Sunday’s gospel opens with further reflection on Jesus’ baptism He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and the one anointed by the Spirit In the liturgy we come and see Christ revealed among us in word and meal. We go forth to invite others to come and worship the Holy One and to receive the gifts of grace and peace made known among us.

For the past 12 years, Redeemer’s response has focused on anti-child sex trafficking in Georgia through our small group Redeeming Grace and its involvement with Wellspring Living’s transformational care of child sex trafficking victims Please visit the display in the Sims Atrium Learn how children are vulnerable and are recruited. Get to know four survivors. For those worshipping online, click here for their stories Learn what you can do! We need you to talk to your legislators and help us change laws and protect children and women. On Sunday, January 8, we started using the chalices made by our 8th graders at 9 AM worship. Each 8th-grade Confirmation student had to answer the question, "What does Communion mean to you?" From January 8-22, the chalice used was painted by Reese Dumont. This is Reese's interpretation: "To me, communion is a way for everyone to come together and share the love of God. Ever since I remember, I have done communion with my family "

We at Redeemer practice the second part of this verse weekly with the wonderful food ministry. We also practice it with the food drive we do at the beginning of summer for Midtown Assistance Center (MAC); this is very much appreciated!

Now is our opportunity to do the first part of that verse. We are finally able to do an in-person coat drive again, and MAC is in need of coats In the past, they only needed men's coats This year they can use men's, women's, and childrens. They have other organizations they can give the coats to if they receive more than they need. They can also use caps, gloves, and scarves. We will be collecting these coats between December 11th and January 1st There will be collection bins in the atrium labeled with signs for MAC. If you have any questions, contact Richard Mauney at richardemauney@gmail.com.

We are truly blessed at Redeemer, and if you have a second coat (or any of these other items) you would like to share, they would be greatly appreciated May we take this Christman season to be thankful, think about others in our community who are not as blessed, and show God's love to them by sharing from our abundance.
