Student Achievements

Dear Parents and Caregivers, It was certainly a busy week in the Primary School, with plenty of hard work and focus on the order of the day. The Year K-2 students were buoyed by their production of Annie KIDS, which was an absolute delight for the packed audiences. What really made the production special was the exuberant energy and joy which beamed from the stage. The complexity of putting together a production of this size and of managing the various aspects of acting, singing, dancing, costumes, sets and the multitude of other details is an enormous undertaking. I am always extremely grateful to the wonderful K-2 production team, namely Dean Hatthingh, Elli Bortolotti and Marcus Bortolotti. Special thanks to Juliet Mitchel and to the many class teachers, parents and other individuals who give up countless hours to ensure that the students are able to enjoy a memorable experience. Because it really is just that – one which will live long in the memories of all those who were involved. While the K-2 students were enjoying their time in the theatre, the older students in the Primary School were refining their exam writing skills in preparation for the end of year exams. The Year 36 students impressed their teachers with their hard work and focus as they spent most of the week going through what they had learned, while also ensuring that they put their study skills into action. Then, earlier today, they sat for their first exams, which by all accounts went smoothly. We wish all our students everything of the best for the remainder of the exams. In last week’s newsletter, I reported on the exceptional successes of our Reddam House Year 5 and 6 Singers in the National Eisteddfod and in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. In addition, we enjoyed the very special Spring Recital last week. And finally, we had the treat of Annie KIDS this week. So a recent article really resonated with me, as its title was ‘If you want your child to be more resilient, get them to join a choir, orchestra or band’. The Reddam House Primary School Newsletter
