Student Achievements

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Welcome back to what we trust is going to be a productive and full term. I hope that all our students and their families, along with our teachers and coaches, had a restful and happy break. What a pleasure it was to see everyone back on campus, ready and raring to go. It was an especially exciting start to the term for the Year 5 and 6 students, who headed off for three wonderful days away on their camps, to Bathurst and Canberra respectively. What a pleasure it is finally to be resuming these very special times together, as they were sorely missed during the Covid pandemic. I have no doubt that memories to last a lifetime were made during the past three days, and that they will further strengthen the already strong bonds in the two year groups. The halfway mark of the year is always a good time to pause and to take stock of what has happened in our lives thus far. As we reflect on the first six months of the year, we can probably all recall moments of satisfaction, as well as other times during which we have been challenged. This is no less so for the students, as they look back on all that they have achieved this year, as well as areas which will need even more focus in the coming months. The Year 3-6 students had the benefit of the mid-year exams to assess where they are at with their learning, and by all accounts they made the most of the opportunity to go through their exam papers to see where they did well and where they are still able to improve. This coming term is the ideal opportunity to do just that, and our teachers are keen to build on what has been learned thus far and to keep helping our students to reach their potential. While the Year K -2 students might not have written exams, their ongoing assessments are also a valuable tool to indicate how they are excelling with what they have learned.
