I am a freelance graphic designer specializing in corporate communication materials in both print and electronic mediums. With over 20 years of experience, I offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise to all of my clients.
I provide a complete suite of services including design, production, project management, web development and print management.
My experience ranges from corporate identities, displays, web sites, brochures, advertising, annual reports, sustainability reports, and marketing communications. I have worked with clients in the oil and gas industry, retail sector, nonprofit organizations, government departments, real estate developers, and education to name a few.
I provide my clients with the products and services they need to communicate their message in a variety of mediums –whether it be online, electronic, print or a combination. My experience enables me to ensure each project is completed on time and within the framework of the budget and goals.

WORK EXPERIENCE
2014-Present Red Creative — Lincoln, United Kingdom
Position held: Principal and Creative Director. Key responsibilities includes creative direction of all projects, including both print and digital materials. Other responsibilities included managing and liaising with contractors, suppliers and programmers to develop successful creative. Oversee typography, layout and visual consistency on every aspect of client projects. Clients include SAIT, University of Calgary, TransCanada Pipelines, Immedia PR, Fee Simple Law and Smith + Associates.
2010-2014 Johnson Dixon Design Group Inc. — Calgary, Alberta
Position held: Principal. As co-owner of Johnson Dixon Design Group, my key responsibilities included design and art direction of all projects, including both print and digital materials. Other responsibilities included managing and liaising with contractors, suppliers and programmers to develop successful creative. Oversee typography, layout and visual consistency on all client projects. Clients included Suncor Energy, BP, TransAlta, Imperial Oil, CIRI Alberta, Travel Alberta and Vermillion Energy.
2008-2010 Smith + Associates — Calgary, Alberta
Position held: Senior Graphic Designer. As a member of the design team, key responsibilities included design concept and creative direction of corporate communications including annual and sustainability reports, branding, advertising and a selection of digital materials including website design and online reports.
2004-2008 Nonfiction studios — Calgary, Alberta
Position held: Senior Graphic Designer. With a strong focus on corporate communications my key responsibilities included design and production of a wide variety of corporate materials, with a particular focus on annual reports and online materials for a diverse client base including Calgary Stampede, UFA, Pengrowth, Fort Chicago and Canadian Natural Resources.
2001-2004 Artichoke Design and Communications Ltd. — Calgary, Alberta
Position held: Graphic Designer. Working alongside the principal, key responsibilities included design and production of a wide range of projects including branding, website design and general advertising. Other responsibilities included print management and liaising with external resources.
1998-2001 Smith Sumner Design Consultancy Ltd. — London, UK
Position held: Graphic Designer. Working alongside the Creative Director, key responsibilities included design and production of a wide range of corporate materials for a diverse blue chip client base such as Alfred Dunhill and IMG. Other projects undertaken include branding, packaging and advertising.
1998-1993 Freelance Graphic Designer — Victoria, British Columbia
Position held: Graphic Designer. As a freelance designer my responsibilities included design and production of a variety of different projects including magazine design, advertising, branding and newsletters. I was also responsible for collaboration with artists, photographers and other designers as well as liaising with printers and other external suppliers.
