With gratitude and pride, REC of GFW acknowledges the pivotal role played by its members in shaping the landscape of the community, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
At the forefront of the commercial real estate profession stands REC of GFW, advocating tirelessly for long-term job growth and an enhanced quality of life in the region. Comprising over 650 members from diverse backgrounds, REC of GFW embodies the essence of commercial real estate development, engaging not only in organizing enriching events but also in addressing policy matters crucial to the industry’s evolution. The Real Estate Council aligns its activities around three main areas of focus. The frst area is strengthening relationships. REC of GFW endeavors to foster robust relationships and nurture leadership through a myriad of forums and events. Coverage of these events are found in other sections.
When it comes to tackling development hurdles, The Government Afairs Committee spearheaded pivotal initiatives throughout the year, marked by the publication of “The 10 Recommendations to Improve Development Practices at the City of Fort Worth.” This catalyzed constructive dialogues and collaborative eforts, including well-attended Development 101 workshops and two forums with city leadership. REC of GFW’s proactive engagement with governmental bodies underscores its commitment to efecting positive change across various spheres to devise and implement efective solutions.
A beacon of pride for REC, the formation of The Panther Island Steering Committee signaled a commitment to progress. With the assistance of the HR&A team, a refreshed vision for Panther Island was created, propelling the project forward with renewed vigor. While signifcant strides have been made, there is still work to be done related to FormBased Codes and the future governance structure for spearheading development.
REC and its Political Action Committee (PAC) have supported local public servants who have provided invaluable support to the community this past year. Looking ahead, REC’s PAC will extend its reach to include state-level races, leveraging its growing infuence to ensure industry concerns are heard and addressed in Austin.
REC of GFW continued to confront community issues. The Community Afairs Committee has been hard at work fostering connections and driving meaningful initiatives. From collaborating with chambers to supporting urban infll projects, this committee remains dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. REC of GFW is proud to continue its support of Building Pathways, a vital organization committed to career development and personal growth in the construction industry.
As REC of GFW refects on the successes of the past year, it underscores the transformative power of collaboration, innovation, and dedication. With unwavering support and partnership, REC of GFW embarks on a journey towards an even brighter future, fueled by a shared vision for progress and prosperity.
MEMBERSHIP REAL ESTATE FORECAST
The year ended with 656 members representing 296 companies. This includes the addition of 114 new members.
Cowtown Poker Run
Who could forget the exhilarating thrills and camaraderie of the Cowtown Poker Run? Over 300 guests joined us for the premier commercial real estate networking event, donning their fnest cowboy hats and indulging in an evening of games and laughter.
The annual Real Estate Forecast took center stage at TCU forging closer ties with The Center for Real Estate. The event garnered participation from over 625 attendees, providing invaluable insights and raising funds for community projects supported by the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth.
YOUNG LEADERS
The Real Estate Council Young Leaders continue to shine as beacons of innovation and leadership. From the Mentor Series to the Dodgeball Tournament, our young leaders participated in unparalleled opportunities for growth and development. Congratulations to Transwestern for their victory in the Dodgeball Tournament, which contributed $10,000 to Building Pathways. REC of GFW celebrates with the young leaders who participated in The Panther Den, showcasing visionary ideas for the redevelopment of Butler Place.
ANNUAL MEETING
With over 200 esteemed guests in attendance, the Annual Meeting was a celebration of excellence and achievement including the recognition of individuals who made signifcant contributions to the commercial real estate community. Congratulations to Terri Montesi of Trademark Property Company, recipient of the Susan Halsey Founder’s Award, and Jef Postell of Post L Construction, who received the Danny Scarth Impact Award. Additionally, Christian Hibbs of Frost Bank was honored as the Outstanding Young Leader, and Bob Morgan of Fort Worth Fire Department received our frst Excellence Award for his exemplary service.
SCOTT WALKER MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
This year, REC of GFW doubled the fun with not one but two fights of golf at the Scott Walker Memorial Tournament. From the competitive spirit of the Championship Cup Flight to the laid-back networking vibes of the Here to Par-Tee Flight, both events were a testament to the camaraderie and sportsmanship within our community.

$20,000 to the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership
This funding supports the partnership’s eforts to attract and retain businesses, promoting sustainable economic growth and expanding job opportunities.
$20,000 to The Center for Real Estate at TCU
By investing in education, this contribution aids in the development of future real estate leaders and innovators.
$10,000 to Building Pathways
This grant helps provide training and support for careers in construction and real estate, opening doors for new talent and addressing workforce needs.
$10,000 to Community Design Fort Worth
Funding for this organization supports our commitment to thoughtful, inclusive urban planning and development, ensuring our community’s growth is both strategic and sustainable.
$5,000 to The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce
This contribution bolsters the Chamber’s role in championing economic prosperity and connectivity among local businesses.
These contributions are more than just fnancial support; they represent our belief in the power of collaboration and our commitment to solving the complex challenges facing our region. The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth (REC of GFW) is the unifed voice for the commercial real estate industry - infuencing action and supporting change to accomplish longterm job growth and an enhanced quality of life in our region.
REC of GFW is made up of more than 600 members from more than 270 diferent companies who touch all facets of commercial real estate development. Besides conducting events and programs benefting our members, REC of GFW addresses policy issues that afect development.
