Through your generosity, we have not only endured but thrived in our mission to provide essential services to homeowners in need. This year stands as a testament to our collective dedication as we achieved a remarkable milestone – completing a record number of homes, surpassing all previous records.

This achievement was made possible by the strategic expansion of our internal team, enabling us to extend our outreach across 20 diverse counties within the state of Florida. Since the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian on countless communities, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to aiding and uplifting those affected. Our focus on the long-term recovery of these communities has been unyielding, a testament to our dedication to their well-being. Moreover, our dedication extends to proactive hurricane preparedness measures.

Our initiatives go beyond disaster response, encompassing programs tailored to address the needs of veterans, the elderly seeking to age in place, providing secure homes for children, and offering rental housing for low-income families. With your continued support, our scope reaches from Bay to Bay, contributing to safe and thriving homes throughout the Sunshine State.

WHO WE ARE? ABOUT US

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) believes that everyone deserves a safe and healthy place to call home. Safe, healthy, and affordable housing is out of reach for many of our neighbors and we are here to help. RTTB provides free critical home repair and affordable housing opportunities throughout 20 counties in the Tampa Bay, Southwest FL, and Central FL areas to our neighbors who otherwise could not afford it.

Since our inception in 2000, RTTB has helped thousands of families through repairs, home assessments, education, supplies, and affordable housing opportunities.

Rebuilding Together is a national organization with over 100 affiliates across the nation.

THE NEEDS Over 2.1 Million Low-Income Florida Households pay more than 30% of their income towards housing.

1.2 Million Low-Income households in Florida, pay more than 50% of their income towards housing.

This makes it nearly impossible to save for emergencies such as roofing expenses, plumbing and electrical repairs, or HVAC replacements. Many of these homeowners will end up living in deteriorating, physically inadequate spaces that threaten their health and safety.

We focus on serving Disaster Survivors, Seniors, Veterans, Disabled, and Underserved Communities to help them preserve their homeownership and live healthy lives.

By working with volunteers and by investing in communities, we improve the lives of our neighbors in need by increasing the safety and health of their homes, building economic development opportunities and revitalizing our communities.

Rebuilding Together relies upon the generosity of donors to carry out our work, and we can’t do it without you. By joining us in our work, you can become an invested partner in your community.

Our PROGRAMS DISASTER READINESS & RECOVERY

Rebuilding Together’s Disaster Readiness and Recovery program provides disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and long-term recovery support to help families and communities affected by natural disasters rebuild their homes and lives.

With natural and man-made disasters on the rise, our affiliate network focuses on community preparedness before the storm hits and the repair and rehabilitation of damaged housing stock in the aftermath. With a four-focus area approach of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, RTTB not only responds to disaster, but builds and strengthens community in the process.

SAFE AT HOME

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay offers free critical home repair to neighbors in need. Our programs address the most urgent needs impacting the well-being of homeowners, their families, and our neighborhoods. From roof replacements to accessibility modifications, our programs and repairs are tailored to meet the individual needs of each home and the families that live in them.

Our PROGRAMS AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Through public and private sector partnerships, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is able to build new affordable homes for neighbors in need. Our new home builds provide 2-4 bedroom, 2-bath, single-family homes to first-time homeowners and families who could not otherwise afford homeownership. We are also providing affordable rental homes!

Single-family rental homes are equipped with smart technology to improve the well-being and security of the occupants.

SAFE & HEALTHY HOMES PROGRAM

RTTB’S Safe and Healthy Homes Program provides families with free critical home repairs and education that reduces asthma and allergy symptoms in children.

Asthma is one of our country’s most common and costly diseases. It is the leading chronic disease in children and the third leading cause of hospitalization among children under age 15. The most common asthma triggers are found within the home. Our program combats the high rates of asthma and allergies in children across Tampa Bay through a combination of Evidence-Based Home Repairs and Substantial Rehab that addresses the unique repair needs of each home and family. In addition to repairs, homeowners are equipped with supply kits and complete educational courses that jump-start each family’s ability to independently maintain a healthy home.

HURRICANE IAN IMPACT Hurricane Ian made landfall on September 28, 2022 as a strong Category 4 hurricane in Southwest Florida.

The storm had sustained winds of up to 161 mph and rainfall up to 31 inches, causing severe flooding and roofing damage to homes.

Our goal here at Rebuilding Together is focused on the longterm recovery of those affected by Hurricane Ian.

One month following the storm, RTTB received a $500,000 donation from Wells Fargo and gained recognition as Al Roker featured us on the Today Show.

HURRICANE IAN IMPACT On September 28th, 2023, marking the 1year anniversary of Hurricane Ian, RTTB unveiled its 5,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Hurricane Response Distribution Center / ToolBanks & Disaster Services Hub in Tampa, FL. This facility will offer essential supplies for post-hurricane relief and rehabilitation to affected residents.

To commemorate the event, several community leaders including Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, ToolBank USA, Tidal Basin Group, and Volunteer Florida, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new facility.

This year we were able to give away free supplies including tarps to our community in DeSoto county. We were able to help 282 homeowners during the supply giveaways.The events were a resounding success, and it wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable support of two exceptional partners: United Way and The Home Depot Foundation.

Each week, RTTB tirelessly undertakes the essential efforts to restore the homes of Floridians in need to habitability. Despite the storm occurring in 2022, the ongoing demand for our impactful work persists. Your support is vital in ensuring we have the necessary funding to make a lasting impact in the lives of those affected.
