Self Description

We are a movement that wants to stop restaurants of all kinds from using straws to save the enviroment and there are animals like turtles that are dying because they swallow them.

Inspiration

My inspiration was that there were already movements influenced to take the care the enviroment so that motivate me to do something to help and just knowing that animals are hurt because that affects them too opened my eyes to help.

Question "How we can reduce or reuse our cafeteria waste?"

What we can do to reduce the cardboard plates would be buy more plastic plates and the cafeteria dosent use straws in drinks or we can buy recycled or biodegradable utensils and there are already companies around the world selling this type of utensils.

Info Related Composting is a way to reduce and reuse food waste. Organic waste descomposes depending on environmental conditions and when the compost is finished, it can be added back to soil.

Compost have many benefits. It helps the soil retai nutrients and pH and help other life forms in the soil.

The things you can do to stop cafeteria waste is: Take home food scraps to compost at home.

Take home extra food.

Order food product in bulk or with minimal packaging.

Bring lunch in a reusable lunch bag.

Use reusable plates, cups, and utensils.

Use unbleached coffee filters.

The use of cardboard and plastic become waste floating in the oceans.To eliminate the use of plastic you cuould bring your own metal cutlery at home,stop buying bottled water because 90% of plastic materials are only one use.

More than 500 million straws are used daily and that also affects maritime life.There are people who already created biodegradable and compostable dishes,glasses and napkins to take care the environment.

You don't need a big space or a garden to plant fresh food as long you use or a recicled material and use it as a pot,some dirt,water and sun you can have your own orchard.

With this little orchards we can use it to do our own good in a safe and ecological way and is not really expensive if you use recycled material.

I am doing this project with the purpose of helping to take care the environment from home and now days some food have chemicals and this project make food more safer and healthier.

I want people to do my project because I think that instead of going to spend money in a pot to plant ,you can use a old fruit basket and that help the environment.

Psychology

Most of the colors that appears in my magazine are 2 types of green that is the lime green and the Kelly green and this have a meaning for example is safety, relax, nature, environment, fertility,etc.

The chive will be inside the plastic plate and the roots will start to grow over a week.

After 2-3 weeks the chieve will be ready.

Reflection

My project was based on recycled material that could be used in a second use and I planted chives and onions.

When I started working on my project I had many options to choose what materials I can use but some people recommended me specific materials because the roots have to grow in a big place, so I can say that I make some changes in the process.

My project could improve in many ways, for example, I could have planted in a different way or method so that would make my plantations grow faster, I also could use more recycled material in more parts of my project and change the location to a more sunnier place. In the part of germination I could have use a bigger material to plant more. I learned a lot from this project because this method of planting using recycled material give me a lot of creativity and new ideas. Also we are taking care the environment and that is the most importnat part.
