market research firm Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate Research Technologies found that over 50 percent of Facebook fans and Twitter followers are more likely to recommend and buy from brands they’ve followed through social media channels. In an environment of cautious buyers and cross-country moves, more people are turning to sites like these to follow up on a recommendation — and many are “shopping” online for an average of 10-12 months before even contacting an agent. If you’ve got a Facebook business page, they can follow you to get a feel for your personality, how much you know, what kinds of resources you’re willing to provide, how connected you are to the community — and even discover what the local community is like. This gives you a unique opportunity to make a great first impression and stay connected to those leads you’re nurturing.
