Texas Sentinels Foundation gives a Fort Worth, highly decorated Marine a Home Marine SSGT Charles Lauersdorf, a highly decorated combat wounded veteran, a Purple Heart recipient and father of four, received a 100% debt-free, mortgage-free, fully furnished home in Fort Worth thanks to the Texas Sentinels Foundation.

Charles joined the Marine Corps in 2001, just months before 9/11 and completed 7 combat deployments in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was immersed in heavy combat operations against Al Qaeda and Taliban forces. In 2004, while on his second combat tour, Charles deployed with a Marine Infantry company to Ramadi, Iraq, the capital of the Al Anbar Province and served in Echo Company 2nd Bn 4th Marines during the Battle of Ramadi. He was severely wounded on April 10th after an RPG attack and awarded a Purple Heart and multiple other military awards and decorations for his gallant efforts and heroism. His Marine Battalion would ultimately lose 34 men on that deployment.

Charles would deploy to Iraq once more, for a third time, with Special Operations Forces in 2005.

Then in 2008, he was assigned to Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), where he’d deploy with a Marine Special Operations Company to Afghanistan. Lauersdorf was deployed to Afghanistan in 2015 and 2016.
