Abalone has been founded to make quality education a reality in the region of Terai, Uttar Pradesh. The school believes in creating an environment that brings out the best in every child. Established by visionaries Mr. Rakesh kumar Kashyap and his wife Mrs. Minakshi Kashyap, it is the only English medium school in Terai region. It is located on the Nighasan-Tikunia highway in UP and easily accessible from various places. The nearest rail station is just 18kms away (Belrayan) and the bus stand just half a kilometer away.

ACADEMIC SESSION The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and offers CCE curriculum from 1st to 12th classes. We offers English medium education and subjects offered include English, Hindi, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit (Class VI to VIII), Mathematics, Foundation of Information Technology, Physical Education, Art Education, Work Experience, Information Technology. Students have the option to choose the desired subjects in Class XI and Vocational Courses for Class XI & XII are applied. The extracurricular activities include Craft, Needlework, Classical Dance, Art, Indian Classical Music, Western Music, and Community Service apart from various indoor & outdoor sports and games.

At the Class XI and XII Level a choice of three streams are offered - Humanities, Commerce and Science. Along with a compulsory English paper, the student must opt for at least four or five other subjects from the specific stream. Unit Test, Class Tests and Examinations are conducted regularly for continuous assessment of children's academic performance. Parents/guardians receive reports & marks sheets at the end of each term. A student's year long performance is considered for promotion into next class/level. The Principal's decision is final in matters regarding placement and promotion of students.

Admission Procedure Registration followed by admission test conducted on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturdays of April every year. The application for the admission test must be duly filled and submitted at the specified address. At the time of taking the admission test, the child must be in one class lower than the class wherein the admission is sought.

Every child should also meet the age criteria as prescribed in the registration form. Failure to meet any of the criteria would result in withdrawal of permission to appear for the admission test. Documents to be submitted at the time of admission include T.C./Birth Proof, Mark sheet, Aadhar Card , Caste Proof, Income Proof, Photo of Parents & Child.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA 11 Sc.- Minimum 65% in class 10 board Exams 11 Comm. - Minimum 50% in class X board Exams 9th - 60% in Admission Test

UNIFORM NOTE: Boys & girls are advised not to wear heavy jewelry or ornaments. All the students are required to avoid fancy hair styles and other forms of display. Any item of jewelry or any item of improper uniform will be confiscated for the rest of the term. Carrying mobile phones, tabs and other gadgets is strictly prohibited in the campus. All the students must always adhere to the uniform code of specified dressing.

SUMMER BOYS (Nursery to 12th): School Checks Shirt, Grey Trouser with 18” Cuff opening, School Tie, Belt, Socks, Black Shoes. Low waist and high pants are not allowed.

(Sikh Boys – Maroon Turban) Girls (Nursery to 8th): Check Shirt, Grey Skirt/Pant, School Socks, Tie /Belt & Black Shoes.

Girls (9th to 12th): School Checks Shirt, Grey Salwar, Grey Dupatta, School Socks, and Black Shoes.

WEDNESDAY Boys Nursery to 12th / Girls Nursery to 8th – House color T-Shirt & Lower, White Sports Shoes & White Socks.

WEDNESDAY Girls - 9th-12th - House colour shirt (Kurta) and Dupattaa with white salwar and house colour ribbon/ bands WEDNESDAY Sikh Boys – House Color Turban

WINTER Girls & Boys (Nursery to 5th) – School Sweater and School Jacket, School Trouser Girls & Boys (6th to 12th) – School Half Sweater and Maroon Blazer with Black Cap

Registration

Admission to all classes at Abalone Public School is strictly through an admission test followed by personal interview. The registration form filling formalities must be strictly followed.

Address for correspondence must be written clearly.

Any changes in this must be intimated to the Principal.

All information regarding the admission test will be sent to the latest address registered with Abalone Public School.

The admission test will be held on 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Saturdays of April every year.

Please do not leave any column in the registration form blank.

At the time of taking the admission test, for a particular class, the student must be studying in one class lower and must meet the age requirements failing which permission to admission test would be withdrawn.

Vacancies offered are as follows:

Class 7 - Candidates aged above 12 on March 31st, of the year of admission in the school will not be considered.

Class 8 - No vacancy normally exists in the class.

However, a chance vacancy will be filled on the basis of Aptitude Analysis. Candidates aged above 13 on March 31st, of the year of admission in the school will not be considered.

Class 9 - No vacancy normally exists in this class.

However, a chance vacancy will be filled on the basis of admission test. Candidates aged above 14 on March 31st, of the year of admission in the school will not be considered.

Nursery - Age above 3 years LKG - Age above 4 years UKG - Age above 5 years Class 1 - Age above 6 years Class 2 - Age above 7 years Class 3 - Age above 8 years

Class 10 - No admissions are made to this class.

Class 11 - Admission by merit.

Class 12 - No admissions are made to this class.

The School reserves the right to refuse permission to take the Aptitude Test without giving any reason thereof.

Class 4 - Candidates aged above 9 on March 31st, of the year of admission in the school will not be considered.

The registration fee is non refundable.

The acceptance of the registration form and fee is no guarantee that the ward will be admitted and it does not involve the School in any obligation to admit the student.

Class 5 - Candidates aged above 10 on March 31st, of the year of admission in the school will not be considered.

Class 6 - No vacancy normally exists in this class.

However, chance vacancy will be filled on the basis of Aptitude Analysis. Candidates aged above 11 on March 31st of the year admission in the school will not be considered.

All correspondence regarding admissions should be addressed to The Principal, Abalone Public School, Nighasan Kheri, in a cover super-scribed ‘Admission’ on the left hand corner.

School Rules Valuables will not be the responsibility of the School.

No cell phones are permitted in School and any student caught with this is liable to be suspended.

No student is permitted to make a call from any parent's mobile.

Electronic items with visual display are not permitted e.g. iPod, mp3, mp4 and handy cams.

Expensive digital cameras and Internet enabled devices are not permitted.

The School takes a serious note of bullying which is punishable by suspension/expulsion.

The School has a zero tolerance policy towards alcohol/drugs/cigarette smoking.

Any student found guilty of possession and/or consumption of these items will be expelled from the School.

The disciplinary committee gives punishments after an investigation.

Students are expected to abide by all school rules and regulations and conduct themselves in a befitting manner.

In order to ensure swift and effective communication between the parents and the School, we have a system of emailing and calling by which you can establish direct contact with the staff member concerned and be assured of a quick response.

Fees & Admissions Very Important Note The Principal reserves the right to withhold permission for an outing with any person, even though authorized by parents, if she feels necessary to do so in the interest of the student and/or school.

Close relatives would mean the immediate family, grandparents and real aunts and uncle and first cousins.

Minor/School going/College going brothers or sisters will not be allowed to take students out.

Parents are not allowed to disturb the school employees & students during the working hours unless in case of emergencies.

Visitors Only visitors who are close relatives (immediate family) and who have been authorized by parents (in writing via letters or e-mail), are allowed to meet their wards.

A telephonic message will not be accepted. Visitors are requested not to linger beyond the stipulated time thereby making it necessary for staff on duty to have to request them to leave.

Principal visiting hours - 10am to 12pm.

NOTE: Disturbing studies during term must be kept to the minimum.

Travel Arrangements The school provides transport facility within a periphery of 30kms.

Fee and Charges The fee will be payable under the following heads in your installments A. School tuition fee B. Transport fee C. Computer fee D. Registration fee E. Admission fee F. Games fee G. Exam fee All payments to School should be forwarded as per the following details: Cheque at par, Transfer via nearest bank of Baroda through Bank Challan, Online transfer via Payment Gateway (coming soon) If payment of fees is in default by more than a fortnight after the due date of payment in any term, a surcharge will be levied at rates in force from time to time. No student will be kept in the School, if her/his fees are in arrears by more than two months from the beginning of the term. In addition to this, the School will keep back her Reports/Board Results/Transfer Certificates etc. until all dues are cleared.

If a student is leaving the School, the School will withhold the relevant documents until the fee dues are cleared.

Admission & Withdrawals The prospective parent or guardian should first register the child for the year and class in which admission is sought.

The Registration Form (enclosed in the prospectus) duly filled in, along with the required registration fee, attested copy of the date of birth certificate, two reference letters, two passport size photographs of the child, should be sent immediately.

Registration after June 30th will require an additional late fee as per schedule attached in the prospectus.

ADMISSIONS ARE ONLY AGAINST CHANCE VACANCIES, FOR CLASSES 6, 8 & 9.

New candidates selected for admission are expected to report to school immediately after the completion of paper formalities and deposit of fees.

Candidates who qualify in the admission test will be intimated telephonically followed by a call letter.

The child will be required to come for an interaction to Abalone and meet the Principal.

Normally both the parents and the candidate are required to attend the interaction. Parents will be required to bring reports of the candidates from the previous school.

Admissions Parents of children admitted are expected to confirm their acceptance within 10 days. The acceptance of admission should be accompanied by payment in accordance with the instructions in the offer letter.

The same will be forfeited if the offer once accepted is later declined.

Students will have to produce a TRANSFER CERTIFICATE and should have gained promotion to the class of admission by April of the year in which they are being admitted. In case the student is instructed to join on a specific date without taking the final examination, a TRANSFER CERTIFICATE of promotion to the previous class will have to be provided.

Guidelines for English, Hindi and Mathematics on the basis of which the admission test papers are made are given in the Prospectus. Aspirants for admission in a particular class should prepare themselves accordingly.

No change of date of birth will be accepted once a date of birth certificate of the Hospital and Municipal Corporation is submitted.

For entrance to Class 11, admission is considered on the basis of the Board result of Class 10.

No prior registration is done for class XI.

Withdrawals Three months advance notice is a must for withdrawals.

If withdrawal is made between APRIL to JULY then, half the School fees shall be charged.

For withdrawals in & after AUGUST, full fees will be charged.

For withdrawals from Classes X & XII, the fees will be charged up to JUNE. The decision of the Principal in this respect will be final.

Rebate 12% discount on school tuition fees is given to the children of the same parents.
