Ordevian of Distinction The Ordevian of Distinction is the Organization's highest honor awarded to an Ordevian. To be an Ordevian of Distinction, one must embody the Organization's Core Values while exhibiting the qualities of a good Ordevian, namely -- unity, charity, stoicism, and wisdom. In this capacity, the Ordevian of Distinction will serve one term on the Board of Visitors. This Distinction is endowed upon an Ordevian of the Organization's choosing once in a lifetime but follows the incumbent forever.

ABOUT CLYDE Clyde Johnson is a native of Dallas, TX. He will soon graduate from Texas Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in health studies. As an active student on campus, he currently serves as Wesley Foundation Vice President, DFW Club Vice President, and Dance Director. He is an Honors Student and has been recognized for his academic achievements over the past three semesters. After he graduates, he will be furthering his education by pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare administration.

WHY CLYDE? Clyde joined the Organization on July 16, 2020, after receiving a Care Package through our partnership with JCS Project as part of our COVID-19 Relief Operation. Unbeknownst to Clyde, he joined us just in time as were officially finalizing the Organization's rebirth. This shift was no concern to Clyde. He fully embraced our vision for the future by getting immediately involved with our Focus Group where he provided invaluable feedback and insight.

In 2021, Clyde joined the #HBCUteenth Steering Committee and with his help, we were able to give awards to HBCU graduates who really deserved them. It is worth noting that during this time Clyde was a full-time student at Texas Southern University and a working man. Clyde would often tune in for committee meetings while he was working but he remained as engaged as possible and was always willing to help where he could.

What is perhaps most commendable about Clyde, warranting him this Distinction, is his commitment to our Yearly Goals and Objectives (YGOs). Since their inception, Clyde has remained dedicated to completing his YGOs as required by the Organization. Through our YGOs, Clyde has hosted two Campus Service initiatives during which he cooked and fed students on campus in need of a home-cooked meal using money from his own pocket. Clyde has not only led these initiatives but fostered partnerships for Rdevia with The Wesley Foundation of Texas Southern University and the Divine Nine.

Clyde is most deserving of this honor and it is marvelous in our eyes.

Leader of the Year The Leader of the Year is the Organization's highest honor awarded to an Ordevian in Leadership.

To be a Leader of the Year, one must serve on the Executive Team, the Grand Parliament of Rdevia, or one of the four Ordevians in Leadership Body as delineated in the Constitution -namely: the Establishment, the College of Deans, the National Leadership Council, or a Chapter Leadership Team. To be Leader of the Year, one must exhibit the qualities of a good Ordevian and Leader, namely -- unity, charity, stoicism, and wisdom. In this capacity, the Leader of the Year will be allowed to make nominations for all leadership groups during his/her year of service. This honor is endowed upon an Ordevian in Leadership of the Organization's choosing.

ABOUT LAURELLE Laurelle Davis is a master’s level graduate student at Valdosta State University, studying Marriage and Family Therapy. Her interest in therapy flourished while studying Psychology and Criminal Justice at Florida Memorial University. She worked as a teacher’s assistant within the sociology department in addition to interning at the Trayvon Martin Foundation. After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University with her master’s in Forensic Psychology, she fully realized that her passion lies within the therapy field of psychology.

Laurelle is currently researching Black women, sexuality, and ethical biases when working with teens. After graduating in 2023, Laurelle plans to work with families, children, and populations who normally refrain from seeking professional counsel. When she is not busy with research, she enjoys traveling to new places around the world, trying new foods, and watching classic movies.

WHY LAURELLE? Laurelle joined the Organization on July 26, 2015, making her one of our very first members. In fact, she is the 3rd person to join the Organization and is a Founding Member of the Organization and a Charter Member of our Florida Memorial University Chapter. Since joining, Laurelle has served the Organization in multiple capacities including Deputy Assistant to the President, Chapter Vice President, Symposium Site Director, and National Membership Officer. Needless to say, Laurelle has played a vital role in the foundation of our Organization. Her unwavering commitment is admirable and she is a true example of what it means to be down for the cause.

Laurelle is a loyal leader who has earned her say and her stay in the Organization's ranks! There are few others in the Organization who possess nearly as much influence as her.

Beyond her historic role, Laurelle continues to shape the future of the Organization. As the inaugural National Membership Officer, Laurelle played a crucial role in our rebirth and rollout of the Ordevian Experience. Laurelle worked tirelessly in developing the process for the Ordevian Call, the Recommitment Process, and most importantly, our Yearly Goals and Objectives. Laurelle is a two-time Executive Apprentice and will serve in the capacity of Associate Programs Officer for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year.

Laurelle is most deserving of this honor and it is marvelous in our eyes.

The Founder's Harvest $100 Donors will be invited to The Founder's Harvest, our first-ever philanthropic giving society.

The Founder's Harvest will be the catalyst for many societies to come and serve as a blueprint for what it means to take stock in the #Fight4HBCUs!
