The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland –Medical University of Bahrain, or RCSI Bahrain, is a constituent university of RCSI, which was established in Dublin, Ireland in 1784.
RCSI Bahrain is licensed and accredited by the Higher Education Council in the Kingdom of Bahrain as an independent private university, and like its counterpart in Dublin, is a notfor-profit health sciences institution focused on education and research to drive positive change in all areas of human health worldwide.

The Undergraduate medicine programme offers two main entry points with the 5 year programme providing direct entry into medicine. The addition of a foundation year extends the programme duration to 6 years and acts as a bridging year for students transitioning from secondary to tertiary education. The Globally recognised degree awarded upon completion of the programme enables students to pursue local and international employment opportunities. RCSI Bahrain Graduates are now practicing medicine in over 37 countries around the world.

RCSI Bahrain’s Medical Commencement Programme (MCP) is designed to provide a learning path in English language and basic sciences to those who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine but require some specific additional knowledge.
It aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to bridge the gap from secondlevel education to third-level medical school education.
Upon successful completion of this one-year programme, candidates will progress to the Foundation Year stage of the undergraduate medicine programme.

The RCSI Bahrain Nursing Programme is a 4 year Bachelors in Science that is available to both Science and Commercial streams. During the programme, students will learn the principles of holistic care, clinical competence, therapeutic communication, accountability and personal development. There are opportunities for sponsorship and scholarships from the public and private sector, which provide students with employment after graduation, both in Bahrain and overseas.

When starting your journey of applying to university, there are 3 key stages to consider; EXPLORE, DECIDE AND APPLY.
In the EXPLORE phase, you should look to better understand the career path you have chosen and the role of a working professional in that field. This will always begin with doing your research and obtaining first-hand insight and experience that confirm you are making the right choice.

During the DECIDE phase, you start to consider your options when choosing a university to help you pursue your career. At this stage, you should be reviewing key factors that may influence your decision, such as the accreditation of the degree, the programme structure and the employment opportunities after graduation.
The final stage of the journey is to APPLY. There are several considerations that need to be taken into account when submitting your application to a university. To ensure you are giving yourself the best chance of success with your application, you need to consider the application process as a whole, including but not limited to; your Personal Statement, Admissions Interviews, relevant experience and supporting documents.

Eligible applicants will be notified by email.
Interview by a faculty member assessing communication skills, maturity, motivation, and suitability for a career in healthcare.
Submit signed acceptance of offer and proof of payment or sponsorship letter.

A final outcome letter will be sent.
An acceptance email required if there are any changes to entry stage.
