NOR-BUILT CONSTRUCTION

Norbert Bolger has been working in the construction business since he was 17 years old. In 1988, when he was only 20 years old, he started his own business, Nor-Built Construction. In 1991 Bolger built his first house. He’s been leading the company in developing subdivisions and homes since. The company builds a range of homes including some attached units, townhouses and single family homes. They have even built an entire townhouse project in which every home was accessible. Bolger started building

accessible homes because his daughter, Brittany, has special needs that limit her mobility. “I see a growing need for accessible housing and I’m aware that mobility issues are more common than one may think,” says Bolger. Accessibility makes a difference Accessible homes are becoming increasingly important to buyers and Bolger recognizes it as a growing market. He explains there has been a positive reaction to the accessible homes Nor-Built is building. “A lot of our clientele are older and one of the first things they

notice is there are no steps. Even if they don’t need it themselves, they say it will be perfect for their mother or aunt or dad, and more people can visit because they don’t have any steps to get in,” says Bolger. Accessible Show Room In addition to building many accessible homes, the company also has an accessible in-house show room for customers to pick our any interior finishes for their new home. Bolger, whose daughter has cerebral palsy, recognizes that many people have or develop

mobility problems. This is why he began focusing on accessible housing and sees the importance in having the accessible show room as well. The show room is a convenient one stop shop for customers and because it is all on one floor, it is easily accessible for anyone. “You can come here and pick out everything without leaving. It’s all on one floor so if you have accessibility issues, you can come here for the day and pick everything out for your place. You don’t have to worry about going somewhere you can’t access,” explains Bolger.

NOR-BUILT CONSTRUCTION Continuous Improvement So why should you choose Nor-Built Construction? The company prides itself on being a locally owned company that consistently leaves customers satisfied with the quality of work and the experience with their employees. The company uses the same core group of partners on almost every project, which clearly demonstrates their ability to maintain positive relationships. Energy Star Certified Homes Nor-Built also is proud to hold

a certification for Energy Star Certified Homes. The company was the first of its kind to be certified Energy Star in Amherstburg and continues to develop energy efficient homes that pass the certification. Bolger explains, “We were the first one in Amherstburg and we make sure we take care of any issues. We’ve been around for a long time so we’re stable in the community and we do a lot of work in the community.“ The company is very involved and sponsors a Miracle League team every year, which plays

on an accessible baseball field. Nor-Built Construction has won a numerous awards for their quality craftsmanship and service, including a multitude of Golden Hammer awards and The Greater Windsor Home Builders (GWHBA) Best Home awards. Bolger was president of the GWHBA twice. Looking Ahead Nor-Built has now completed Golf View Estates in Amherstburg with 40 semi-detached homes, as well as Meadowview completed and sold out with a total of 147 semi-detached and custom homes. Their project in Harrow, Ontario “Hawks View Villas” is also sold out where they constructed 34 semidetached homes. Nor-Built’s current focus is on their new development in Ridgetown, Ontario (Victoria Estates) where they will build detached custom homes. Nor-Built continues to build new custom homes in addition to their community projects.

NORBUILT.COM They currently have 8 custom homes under construction for new homeowners on their own properties. Nor-Built Construction is now the first builder in Amherstburg to be certified to build “Net Zero Ready Homes”. A full description is available on the website. Future efforts will focus on the shortage of condominium units in the Amherstburg area for both family units and higher end luxury suites with water views catering to higher demands of professionals. In addition, Nor-Built hopes to announce shortly an exclusive development with an unparalleled collection of Custom Homes catering to home buyers that seek a more Exclusive Home setting. As the building paradigm continues to constantly change, Nor-Built Construction is certainly keeping in step with the most recent trends while supplying the very best for their new home buyers.
