Printed Every Month 130th Anniversary
OCTOBER 2020
Ray-Winkelman Lodge No. 24 has a long and proud history dating back to the early days of Masonry in Arizona. At the 2020 Communication it was voted by Grand Lodge for Lodge No. 24 to enter into a new direction and merge with White Mountain Lodge No. 3 in Globe. While cleaning out the Lodge Hall, a plaque was removed and behind it was found a time capsule containing a number of interesting items! Contained within the handmade box, was a history of Winkelman Lodge and a number of items that will be revealed at a future White Mountain Lodge meeting!. A time capsule is a historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a deliberate method of communication with future people, and to help future archaeologists, anthropologists, or historians. The preservation of holy relics dates back for millennia, but the practice of preparing and preserving a collection of everyday artifacts and messages to the future appears to be a more recent practice. Time capsules are sometimes created and buried during celebrations such as a world's fair, a cornerstone laying for a building, or at other ceremonies.
