KD BALTIC GRADED CARCASSING

Carcassing is a key building product for any construction project. Most popularly it is used for studwork and joisting. Its practicality and diversity makes it such an important product in the construction market.

Our C24 Carcassing is visually graded to BS5268:2007 by a registered qualified grader or by machine to EN 14081:2005 at our reputable mills in the Baltics. This means fewer knots will be found in the timber so the product can be used for wider spans and/or hold heavier loads.

Our C24 is naturally strong due to the extreme environment in which the timber grows. This causes a slower growth rate of the forestry so growth rings of trees form tightly, giving the final product a higher level of stability and natural strength.

Once sawn, planed and graded, our Carcassing then goes through a kiln drying process; this allows us to control the moisture content of the timber. This process can take up to 10 days, but allows impregnation of the timber to its heartwood with treatment, so a more consistent finish and planing of the timber is achieved.

The product is then treated within a vacuum pressurized environment. This process allows deep penetration of the timber allowing for long-term protection against various elements the product may encounter, thus giving the timber a longer lifetime in comparison to untreated products.

All of the timber product is stamped by hand, stating each individual lengths, orgin, mill and date of production. This means full traceability from its beginning to its end use.
