REDSTAR PRIMER

A rapid drying primer made with SBS resins and non flammable solvent. Non flammable solvent based SBS adhesive primer. RedStar Primer is designed for use with Elotene DSN a self adhesive SBS modified bitumen roofing membranes and is intended for use on concrete and various porous substrates to aid initial and long term adhesion of the membrane particularly when application is taking place at the lower end of the temperature range (+5°c).

NOTE: It is essential that sufficient drying time is allowed as any entrapment of solvent will result in blistering/delamination. Only prime areas that will be covered within 2-3 hours. Avoid walking over, as far as practical, areas already primed.

• For best results ensure that surface to be primed is free from oil or dust.

• Sweep clean where necessary.

• Apply thinly with roller in one sweep (the red colour will denote area treated)- refill roller if “cobwebbing” occurs.

• Avoid puddling of the primer.

• Drying time will be affected by surface porosity, film thickness and temperature and can vary between 40-90 minutes.

• Product will remain tacky even after dry. To test, using the back of a glove or dry object press into the primer and remove, there should be no transfer of the primer when the primer is ready.

GREENSTAR PRIMER

GreenStar Primer is a synthetic rubber based primer designed for use with hot melt waterproofing systems.

Application

• Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from frost, oil and any other contaminants.

• Apply by brush or roller.

• Allow to dry before applying hot-melt waterproofing system.

* Coverage stated is approximate and dependant on porosity and type of substrate (two coats may be required on very porous substrates). ** Drying times can vary depending on temperature fluctuations.

Storage and handling

The product should be stored unopened in a dry condition at a temperature of 5ºC - 25°C. This will ensure the stated shelf-life. The adhesive will have a limited life once the container is opened. The rolls are packed individually in cardboard boxes and placed on pallets.

INSTA-STIK™ 750ml HANDY SIZE

Based on 25 years experience of INSTA-STIK™ Professional Roofing Adhesive in its industrial (13.5kg) large tank format, INSTA-STIK™ Roofing Adhesive 750ml meets the roofers need for a highly portable version for the fixing of rigid insulation boards on smaller commercial and residential roofs.

Under Part L of the building regulations it is now a requirement to upgrade the existing insulation to the current standards when replacing or renewing the waterproofing layer.

INSTA-STIK™ Roofing Adhesive will bond up to 14m2 of roof insulation board (based on 19-25 mm beads at 300mm centres).

Surface Preparation and Installation

Surfaces should be dry and clean. Apply INSTA-STIK™ 750ml in 19-25mm beads at 300mm centres in the field of the roof and at 150mm centres around the perimeter. Perimeter width is 1 metre for roofs up to 6.00 metres high, for higher roofs consult with distributor. It is recommended that insulation board sizes do not exceed 1.2m x 1.2m.

INSTA-STIK™ is applied to the roof substrate in beads or ribbons, the roof insulation board is then placed on to the beads straight away or within 10 minutes and will be firmly adhered typically within 20-30 minutes.

INSTA-STIK Contract Pack meets the roofers need for a highly portable pack suitable for up to 70m2, for the fixing of rigid insulation boards on smaller commercial and residential roofs.

Application

For bonding insulation to a variety of vapour barriers (see detailed literature or contact distributor for complete list) and existing roof surfaces including Bitumen felt, Asphalt, Metal, Plywood, OSB, Concrete. Bonding insulation layers together.

To apply INSTA-STIK™ 750 ml a standard polyurethane foam gun is required of which two types are available: Standard short barrel and Long barrel “stand up”.
