FLASHINGS

Danelaw® flashings come in many types and styles, but are generally strip products or at details that form a junction between construction elements to make them weathertight.

The more commonly known roof flashings, are apron flashings sometimes known as abutment flashings, cover flashing, step flashings, step and cover flashings and chimney flashings, but they can also include pitched roof valley linings, secret gutters and flashing for joining pitched roofs with different covering types.

Soakers are also used where a slated or double-lap plain tiled pitched roof abuts a wall, usually in conjunction with a flashing.

Danelaw’s tried-and-tested range of durable flashing and soaker products will ensure your roof remains watertight. From their market leading Dry Fix Valley Troughs and traditional Open Valley Toughs, through to their continuous abutment

soakers/Conti-Soakers and both mortared, Dry Fix Bonding Gutters® and continuous slate verges all made from Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP), making them superior to plastic alternatives and an ideal lead replacement solution.

There are lots of benefits of selecting flashing products made from GRP. Firstly, when compared with lead, GRP products take less than half as much time and cost to install. This is partly because they are so lightweight and easy to handle, and also because they are preformed to the required shape.

GRP roofing products are Anthracite and can look similar to lead when installed, but they do not hold the same value, so deter criminals from theft and the associated damage to the property. GRP does not streak or stain. We offer a 30-year service life guarantee for all GRP flashing products, which ensures the roof will remain leak-free for years to come.

GRP VALLEY TROUGHS

The Danelaw® product range includes both dry fix and traditional open valley troughs for a variety of tiles. All our valley troughs are made from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), an excellent alternative to lead.

Dry fix valley troughs are mortar-free, providing hidden water gulleys at the roof valleys. They create a close-cut appearance therefore additional eaves closure pieces and counter battens are not required.

Open valley troughs have been designed as a simple alternative to traditional lead troughs. Open troughs are a safe and efficient way to collect rainwater run-off. They provide a weatherproof drainage channel where cut tiles meet.

SOAKERS

All abutment flashings are designed to prevent rainwater from penetrating between the wall and the roof covering. We stock Danelaw’s Conti-Soakers for slates and tiles, or a range of individual dry soakers for use in combination with rigid Universal Abutment Cover Flashing or the extremely versatile flexible fully adhesive backed Fast Flash®

The Hambleside Danelaw continuous soaker range offers a secondary line of protection against wind driven rain where the roof meets an abutment wall. Being manufactured from GRP, the continuous soakers have the following benefits;
