How Raymond Mirra Buys a Home in Hillsboro Raymond Mirra bought his current Hillsboro Beach home with the intent of starting a family there. In the early 1980s he moved from Connecticut to join his brother-in-law, Joseph Grazia. While living in the Beach area, Raymond began to be exposed to the world of fine living and beautiful architecture.

That is when he decided to pursue this dream of owning a home in one of those cities. He knew that it would take some time to find the per fect property so he set out to do some research on his own.

Mr. Mirra's search spanned several states but finally he located what he believed to be the perfect location. His wife at the time asked him why he was searching and he told her that he was doing an article on the type of homes that he liked. A few months later they purchased a home on Emerald Isle and over the next several years had three children. During that time the real estate agent that sold them the house called him and invited him over for lunch.

He was not sure what to expect from this new adventure so he asked her if he could tell her a little about the house. She told him that it was very interesting and that she had never heard of anyone who owned a home like this. She knew that the price was high but that it was worth it. After lunch he took her to see the house and she recognized many of the furnishings and even the painting of old famous Hollywood stars. She asked him if he had ever seen such a house and he said that he hadn't.

Mr. Mirra bought the Hillsboro Beach home from Anthony regarding a story he had heard. According to the story, the Gorges was an Italian ship captain and the owner had given him two daughters and a small farm. The captain used his fortune to purchase the land and a beautiful home for his wife. However, he didn't have any children of his own so he left the farm and purchased the women as well. For twenty years the couple had a thriving life and raised six children.

When he and Mrs. Gorges got together twenty years ago they decided to leave their lavish life and take their love of the United States with them.

Unfortunately they didn't make it far and before they were due to leave they were apprehended and put in jail for tax evasion. When they were released,

they decided that they wanted to celebrate their freedom by taking their passion and heritage back to the USA. This is where the story of Raymond and Mrs. Gorges really began.

So, it appears that Mr. Mirra bought the Hillsboro Beach home from Anthony because of a story that he heard. They lived an extraordinary life and always brought guests out to their beautiful home on Hillsboro Beach. It was a wonderful life and they would be very pleased to hear that their long time friend, Anthony had passed on. Now, when the y are away they will always remember their friend and the amazing man who inspired them to build such a beautiful life.
