Connect 2025: Conference Program

Page 1

GOLD COAST CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE

GOLD COAST HIGHWAY, BROADBEACH

On behalf of our family and all of our corporate team, a huge welcome to Connect 2025. With more than 3,000 members of our Ray White family coming together, it will be the largest conference in our 123-year history.

We have been blessed by so many incredible Connect conferences in the past - when we came together to share our stories and support each other on our collective journeys, and to start and continue friendships. We trust that you will help ensure that this Connect conference will be our best yet.

The focus for Connect 2025 is on “Exploring our Horizons”. Our speaker and breakout program has been curated to challenge us on what might be possible as individuals and as a group. We will address our future, discuss specific industry trends, and consider how we can better manage ourselves. We, of course, are proud of the progress we have collectively made since our last Connect, but we must continue to look over the horizon and to keep chasing our potential - that is a tradition we will always uphold!

Whilst Connect is our opportunity to look ahead, it also gives us the chance to celebrate what we have achieved together. At our International Awards night, we will celebrate the most remarkable individual and collective achievements from across our group over the past year. Those who will be on stage are not only at the forefront of our group, but indeed at the pinnacle of the entire industry.

Speaking of traditions, we have some great parties in store, where we look forward to celebrating our success and friendships in great style. And once again, our Connect conference will get underway in Crows Nest at the original Ray White office, where we will open up The Shed and be reminded of where it all began and what can come from collective ambition over multiple generations.

We trust that you will have a fantastic

The Shed Open Day

SUNDAY 10 AUGUST

11.00AM - 2.00PM

Crows Nest Museum and Historical Village

Experience The Shed, the birthplace of Ray White’s real estate journey dating back to 1902, in the historic town of Crows Nest, Queensland. The day will feature a charity auction, food and drink stalls and live music.

Guests can explore a curated collection of historic Ray White artefacts, each telling a chapter of our 123-year journey.

Luncheon

SUNDAY 10 AUGUST

12.30PM - 3.00PM

The Star Gold Coast

Four years ago, a small group of women from Ray White corporate birthed an idea that has expanded throughout the industry. From a small lunch with a handful of female agents, admins and business owners, Leading Ladies of Real Estate has grown into an industry wide movement, welcoming upwards of 4,000 women to events across Australia and New Zealand.

We couldn’t be prouder that the Leading Ladies initiative started at Ray White, and we’re excited to see it spread to other agencies and real estate-adjacent businesses. To celebrate how far we’ve come and how far we’re willing to go to celebrate our female real estate superstars,

we’ve organised our biggest event yet to take advantage of so many of us being in the same place at the same time.

The Leading Ladies Luncheon, held on the Sunday before Connect begins, will bring our fabulous community together across borders (and oceans!). This is the first time we’ve had the opportunity to do this, and we couldn’t be more excited to see all our wonderful ambassadors and leading ladies in one place.

We’re thrilled to announce we’ve secured Dr Kate Reid, illustrious pastry chef and the mastermind behind Lune Croissanterie, as our speaker for the event.

Please note

THAT THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT

PROGRAM DAY ONE

9.00AM | CONFERENCE OPENING

10.50AM | EXPLORING OUR HORIZONS AND BEYOND

Dan, Sam and Ben White

The broader activities of the White Family Group have developed over four generations into many aspects of real estate, finance and technology.

They have been influenced by a long term ambition of exploring our horizons, and with a framework of growing a core business over time by entering new areas of activity that are connected to the core of the business but require different skills, expertise, and methods of execution.

9.35AM | MASTERING LEADERSHIP DECISION-MAKING

Professor Boris Groysberg and Brian White AO

Boris Groysberg is the Richard P. Chapman Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Over the past 20 years, he has become both a close friend and advisor to the broader White Family Group. He wrote a Harvard Business School case on Ray White in 2020 and has taught it to students in many parts of the world.

Brian has been the thirdgeneration leader of Ray White for over 50 years, and has taken the group from a small Brisbane office network to being a clear market leader across Australia and New Zealand. He very rarely talks about himself and his own decision-making

and breakthrough moments, despite the fact that it is a remarkable story from which we can learn so much.

By focusing on two of the most important lessons in modern history, and by analysing the key breakthrough decisions made by Brian throughout his career, Boris and Brian will explore what works and what doesn’t in decision-making, and the traps leaders often encounter. Boris and Brian will explore how leaders help others discover their potential, how to lift a low performing team into a high performing one, the importance of taking risks, and why it is so hard to learn from our mistakes.

If the growth and success of the various family businesses have, to date, been critical to enable investment into new solutions for our members, how do we ensure that this tradition continues? And with so many different choices as to where we should place our focus, how will we decide what is most important?

11.20AM | TELLING OUR STORY...AND WRITING OUR NEXT CHAPTER

Dan White

Our story has held us and our members together for 123 years. It remains unique, and as we have added to it every year, we have been able to attract and retain ambitious members and continually grow our market presence.

Over the past few years, we have focused on a number of the core elements of our story: delivering a family experience, empowering future leadership, delivering unique technology and insights, and ultimately creating more competition for our clients. The development of new

11.45AM | LIFE IN THE FAST LANE: DANIEL RICCIARDO ON HIGH PERFORMANCE, PRESSURE, AND LIFE AFTER F1

Daniel Ricciardo with Mel McLaughlin

Join Daniel Ricciardo, one of Formula 1’s most beloved and successful drivers, in conversation with renowned sports commentator Mel McLaughlin for an intimate discussion about the relentless pursuit of excellence at the highest level of motorsport.

Over his remarkable 13-year F1 career - featuring 257 races, 32 podiums, and eight winsthe Australian “Honey Badger” became known not just for his fearless late-braking moves and signature shoey celebrations, but for his unique ability to maintain infectious positivity while competing in one of the world’s most demanding sports. In this candid interview, Ricciardo will share insights from his journey from a shy 16-year-old meeting

his heroes in the Melbourne pit lane to becoming a main character on the global F1 stage, discussing what it takes to perform under extreme pressure, how to bounce back from setbacks, and the delicate balance between individual excellence and team success in a sport where milliseconds matter.

Expect honest reflections on the mental game required to compete at the pinnacle of motorsport, how he maintained his trademark humour and humanity while battling for victories, and his thoughts on transitioning from the adrenaline-fueled world of F1 to his next chapter - offering valuable lessons for anyone chasing their own checkered flag.

technologies and a determination to remain at the cutting edge has advanced our story and enlarged our potential. Ultimately, our story seeks to project a community and an environment in which to thrive and not be left behind.

How can we be better at telling our story? Are we taking advantage of it to build relationships with our members, the industry and our community? As we write our next chapter, how can we make sure it resonates with our customers?
