the concept for the interior design features revolves around the deeper meaning of the term aura : (greek- a breeze, breathe) It is the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or a place. The interior of the café creates an aura using the sound and movements of ocean waves as the distinctive quality of the place creating a unique vibe. the design features create an aura based on Nature, Neutrality, Interaction, and Serenity.
Interior design competition
the major elements used for the interior components are wooden furniture, timber partitions, hanging plants, exposed brick walls, that focus on the interaction with the natural elements. The maximum part of the glass façade overlooking the beachside and the outdoor seating highlights the indoor interaction with nature; the central semi-open space is turned into a complete interaction zone for people with included board games, indoor games, books, magazines, and similar elements.
the colors used for the furniture and the interior components have been taken from the neutral palette and simply designed furniture has been kept to maintain neutrality and blend with the surroundings. the choice of colors, lights, and placement of furniture overlooking the beach together creates the sense of serenity, and hence the aura created in the interior blends in with the aura generated by the location.
multipurpose room
features simple, light seating, a breezy atmosphere, and monochrome hues. Overhanging plants and hanging lights add charm, complemented by string lights. With ample natural light, it overlooks outdoor seating and the beach, offering a tranquil and visually appealing dining experience.
Nestled by the beach, the cafe embraces a cozy feel with darker hues. Its open design invites seaside serenity, evoking the sensation of water nearby. Sound is key; the calming rhythm of waves enhances relaxation, aiming to transport guests to an oceanic oasis within.
Within the cafe, a lively communal area hosts recreational activities such as reading, board games, and music. Enlivened by a rich color scheme, it encourages socializing. With a colonnaded structure and ocean breeze, it offers a relaxed yet engaging atmosphere.
The café interior features several thoughtful architectural elements.
Textured walls add depth, while dark window frames contrast with light walls. Tables are set with basic tableware, and polished wooden tops with classic wooden chairs create an inviting atmosphere. A seamless indoor-outdoor flow is achieved through partial walls and large openings, enhancing natural airflow. Overhead planters integrated into the ceiling bring greenery indoors. Natural light casts dynamic shadows, enhancing visual interest. The open-air design adds an airy feel, and the lounge area includes under-table storage for practical functionality.
