Closing the Achievement Gap uses cutting-edge frameworks to help participants consider how instructional quality, student engagement, youth development practices, parenting, and school leadership all contribute to student achievement. T he program gives special focus to the challenges of responding effectively to racial, ethnic, and socio-economic differences. Using a socio-ecological approach, participants will consider the interdependence of various stakeholders and will learn how their school community can work together to pursue shared improvement goals.

Learn how to raise achievement levels for all students—while narrowing gaps between groups—by increasing teacher, student, and family engagement. Most of today’s American schools seek to raise achievement and close gaps for students whose achievement lags—but what does it really take to improve outcomes for all students in a diverse school community?

Capture-Curate-Share Personalized Professional Development (Personalized PD) is about teachers having the autonomy for Self- Directed Professional Growth. Teachers are the agents of change and Personalized PD helps teachers amplify their voice. T he professional growth experience is more meaningful when educators can capture, curate and share their teaching and learning experiences.

Capture-Curate-Share is designed for growth mindset educators, as they create ongoing professional development focused on the application of job-embedded instructional strategies. Professional Development is about what you learn and how you apply the new knowledge. Educators can curate their professional development experiences (Conference Breakout Sessions, Workshops, PLNs, Resources, Classroom Teaching and Learning Experiences, etc.) through the use of digital technology and social media tools. T hese curated learning moments can be shared with PLC groups, students, parents and the greater community. Arthur P.'s Response Good afternoon my name is Arthur Peace. Arts impact middle school, 8th grade science as w another school year, maybe. Reviewing a lot of things from Harvard. Day 1. With Ron Fergus arching. Concept of who we are, and why we're here really resonated with me.

I think it's going to be imperative that we, as teachers realize. How important we are to student achievement and achievement gap? One of the key things. T here were talked about implicit biases on somet as teachers treat students. Without even knowing their plight what they're going through t things like that. Session really made me think how often we can turn students off even tho best for them in. No, they don't know it all but they think they do.

Um. Very interesting. For me to reflect on my practices. It wasn't really touched on there were some graphic shown about achieveme years and how they close and how they open, but no real significant reasons were given, b figure it out within our own collectives.

Quaashiea T.'s Response Hi my name is Quaashiea Taylor I'm an intervention specialist and I work at Cassidy Elementary Hello. My name is T ina Allen. I am a fourth grade teacher and Cassidy Elementary. T he first day at th June 29th was really amazing was sparked my interest was the fact that we, as a class.

He started off with poetry. And I've never seen it done in that way. With the way to lead the instruction getting T houghts motivated through poetry, I think is truly amazing. T henext thing that was amaz fact that he talked about the fact that is not a racial thing and we broke down. How is the s situation across the country and it's affecting children's learnin and development and how to educate our families. One certain practices. And how to get the teachers to motivate the students to be feel confident in wanting to come to school and do? What is active them for?

However, the teacher is getting them together? Was sparked my interest was that whole notion of stereo typing anxiety an suppresses student performance and we need to be alleviating serial type anxiety. One of t feel that we can apply this, or what it affirmed to me. Was that how students perceive? We has an impact on their performance and what we can do at Cassidy is a sure that we have h for all our students and that we verbalize that to them, not only do we care. But we expect we're going to help you to get? To where you need to be oh, lastly code switching? He talke switching and I like that because that's the term that I grew up knowing about in the fact t education and we can express that to children to teach them that you don't have to. Be hold certain settings, we need you to be. In a certain kind of or act in a certain way. And when yo environment is OK, you know you could go back to that of which whatever you were doing so, you don't have to lose your identity, yeah alright? T hank you.

Anna C.'s Response Hey all day one. Anna Costello S High School. Today I was struck by the teachers. T hat have expectations what kids think of them, an it was surprising that they think that it is that we and that we are there to help them and that we take pride in their success. And that makes they have that thought.

Gregory W.'s Response What up what up what up my name is Greg Wadell um, I'm a city kid work at AIMS just notes for the first day I have on my iPad so you don't see me reading them off. Number one the presenter for the f presenter asked you.

Uncomfortable questions that are always so popular race is always a catalysts for interesting discussion. It is easy to single code disregard. Some of the blaring issues becaus uncomfortable mean it's hard to talk about race, especially with.

You know if you're in a school system, where you know the majority of the students don't match. T he faces of the majority of the t always happy to work with teachers that are able to. To do it our second one, I was very int discussion of how minority students are actually caught up actually caught up with white s period in the gap but white kids continue to go up to.

Which obviously means that you know black education in public education black education were behind an we as a nation? We as educators at the w little bit better. It seems that growth which is interesting, which is interesting phenomenon mentioned that parents know the introduction of like gangsta rap in. And from 88 to 92 thin found it kind of interesting. I'd love to see the research on that. Lastly, the data is out there give other others. T he data is out there. Others, a visual representation would simply pres If others see the Bell curve that was presented perhaps they could get a clearer understanding of what what we as teachers are dealing with. Hi there, Erica dots in principle at Arts Impact, so for Day One I loved the theme of best bei areas. Today, or excellence. It was just repeated over and over again and I hold a quote nea heart that has that and I talked to the students about it and so I felt like it had a good them know the study that he didn't evidenced in about what does it mean when a teacher has hig thought that was great and something that I could talk to the teachers about as well.

My team talked about that, too, and then? How do we or I described the problem or issue. We want to address wit and how? Do we deliver the same message as a staff as a building. You know what? Are we with those whatever? Issues are that we think we're going to focus on for this year.

And just making sure that we are all on the same page and we're communicating that welltogether. Also I like the tal how do we define agency and how to we make collective agency as far as amongst the staff that agency within our students, so day one was great and I'm excited about the work that Arts Impact and the discussions in our teammates have had so far.

Jada J.'s Response Yeah. Good morning. T his is my day one takeaway was kind of an affirmation of things that just from living as a black child in Columbus, Ohio. He kind of a firm, you know the things that I know. I became an expert at code switching. I see in my students, the way that they allow anxiety to take over sometimes the ability. T hey know information to talk about that information or to answer questions correc a lot of the definitions of vocabulary. I've seen in action as an agitator as a student and mys person in our society.

Dave W.'s Response Good morning, my name is David Walker in principle to Johnson Park Middle School, talking One which was yesterday. I would say. Learning about the Black and Hispanic students clos Gap very low scores was in 1971 and then they grew. Up into the 80s and it stopped, but it jump from the 70s to 80s in. I think they're reading and math achievement gap. So I though or data was interesting. I love to dive more into why that was, I know Ron Ferguson talked that today or are a lot of different things. 'cause he said there was no consensus about why did that but? I thought that was interesting. I think as far as things that we can bring back to our building. We can at least talk about the implicit bias. T hat was another section. I thought was interesting yesterday. implicit bias have my staff members taking an implicit bias test. But they already have prep were just to put in implicit bias at Harvard. If I'm not mistaken and kind of see from there.

Randall S.'s Response All right, Hey, guys, Randall Sampson hear, just coming at you real quick quick little summary about the first day so the first day was pretty good, so it was just laying foundation get everything right getting everything set so but I got out of that first day for me was the notion of telling your story. We had 3 groups an equity excellence with equity. So, the first group is the low performing group. Where the achievem between low performing group and a high performing group higher performing group I sh ability to tell that story of why we're allocating resources and support for the lower group without really taking away resources in supports for the higher.

So they don't feel like they're being slighted.

I know in the heart of educators. T hat's not what we do. We all know that understand it, bu are community side from the policy side political side. We have to be able to articulate that about how we will help all kids. Even though we have specific plans for interventions. We a specific plans for accelerations and stick to those men. Tell that story, about the acceleratio out. So now we can have both groups to continue to move forward and move up and hopefu group closed the gap. Faster so that they can get on equal footing based on the resources p it makes that nice greenish color that we all want so alright guys that is my reflection for to you in there for Day 2.

Just like us adults who are terms are more in touch with things of that nature if we are. Feeling a certain way I don't think we always perform our b put on our best performance whether it is to get attention. Nicol K.'s Response Hi there, Nicole Cool Arts Impact Middle School school counselor so Day 2, Ms. Love shared with us her very real experience and changing school culture and in her work and trying to change the school within her community, which is exactly what in line with what we're trying to do in Ames and probably all of Columbus City Schools. What stood out to me the most as her courage to confront sta And trying to figure out who should be coached and then who should be confronted. About. T he work th kids and in our school 'cause I think we need to change. Quaashiea T.'s Response Hi I'm Quaashiea Taylor intervention specialist 3 through 5, Cassidy Senior Allen 4th grade Cassidy Elementary. What I got from day 2 it was amazing overall loved every speaker? Chi the bonding of their parents for pairs that are incarcerated. It was a powerful Ted talk that that. Speaker so. What I wanted to say was I really changed my understanding of how important it is for children have that bond with their parent and making those connections are reality in real because we know that the data shows that one out of every oneout of 33 Americans have a incarcerated so that just shows you know where we are, and I took away from that with em work with my students and families that are dealing with those types of situations with sen OK um what sparked my interest is that Don Love, the speaker on parent engagement in h do such a dramatic turn around at her school by doing parent engagement in how she was opening sharing about how she really resisted it at first. And so it really affirmed to me how engagement is. T hen we need to move our parents are there, but how do we move them ou compliant state to being engaged parents so it affirms to me that our parents are importan helping our seems to be successful and what we can do at our school is that not necessaril parent engagement program. But what can we do to enhance what we have to ensure that And doing home visits. I definitely look forward to Cassidy getting a team of teachers and st visits. I'm super excited about that because it's time for us to get outside of the box and meet parents where they are amazing alright thank you.

Hi I have Stephanie McCoy principle of Buckeye Middle School in Columbus, OH, there were a lot of great takeaways from day. T wo of the closing the Achievement Gap Program. One of the things th with me see themselves determines how they will navigate through school. An society if stu who they are, and is confident in that they tend to do better in school and in life in general, intentional in how myself. And my staff can help our scholars beconfident is an area that w explore. Don love did an amazing job of speaking on parent and community engagement, which is an area that has been a known coin? Area of work in progress for us as a building. It has been a concern her.

My major takeaways was that just you need to have a vision. You need to pursue it by any m necessary as long as it is a benefit to students and the school culture. She gave some exam things that she does or has done in her building and so it kind ofgot me to thinking out of th that I can do with my parents. Desiree N.'s Response So I think the big takeaway from the Don Love Segment, which was fantastic by the way is everything at Cassidy to take us in the steps of that direction and we've put a lot of things i shared.

We need to add a couple of more things we're trying to strategize some ways that maybe w workout to do more home visits. Home visits is something we already incorporate but it's u who are already identified as T ier 3. But what can we do, maybe to reach our students befo point. But we're definitely doing many of the things that she already discussed and we just in place last year.

So I really think giving time for everything to take place is kind of where we're at now following through analyzing it measuring making sure that our parents see that were invo definitely be more involved with the community. Other than just our own events. So I defini area where we can improve as well. And I'm looking forward to being involved with our com seeing how we can reach out and not just be so school centered. But yeah, Don Was, fantas takeaway as I see is hope and I definitely think that were We've got everything in place. T h can add a couple more things and I think we need to give it time in continued persistence a that direction.

Gregory W.'s Response What up what up what up this is Mr. Wadell again day 2 reporting in? Just going to read off on my iPad. So I'll be looking away. One thing I found interestingin particular is the percent educators at a men in public education verse minorities. T here's such a difference.

T hat that there has to have some effect on educating minority students. I thought that African Americans will rep number. But I'm wrong 7% or 8%. I think it was 7.9 percent. T hat's pretty low in regards to color doctor second part doctor. Taylor makes me think in regards to how much racial dispa Between the teachers that instruct minority students and how much it effect. T he students ability to lea cultural differences. I'm sure there are scholarship and research out there doctor, Ferguso the development. Children communication from birth was very interesting to me nurturing nurturing communication and. Empathy skills is emphasized in my classroom so I won't giv you gotta show some love for folks part. Lastly, I think the a is an initiative that a staff coul behind. It is intense, particularly the parents that don't trust the schools, miss love. Seem t idea that the school has to be the center of the community. It is critical to identify that the c you are among she changed the identity of the school and most importantly, the culture an people in our system in the school board in. T hat's it for Day 2.

Erica D.'s Response Hi there, everyone Eric Dotson Princewood Arts Impact Middle School and my Day 2 takeaw Don Love and strategic engagement of families. She was amazing. I mean, I think that we a With the continued applause that we would give her how Real, she was she talked about h our impact and the work that we're doing? I don't know if I couldanswer that question gran my first year at arts impact, but that's something that I definitely want to focus on like how what we're doing whether or not. It's working.

She also talked about how do we begin the work of increasing our parental engagement. So we have a PT O this past year and we are going to we have a the PTA will be doing each month this year. We're going to get that out. T hat parents know our monthly meetings were going to be hosting some dinners, so that parents can come to also like the idea of the parents going into the classrooms. Need a talk with teacher about pretty strong union. So I'm not really sure how that's going to workout but anyway. T he oth was it, she talked about doing an asset inventory of the students parents and the commun stay after tomorrow and talk with Ron Ferguson, about that tripod survey. I know that I did when I was teaching, we did the middle school, where I was working so I wouldn't mind do just to conduct that needs assessment for. You know the students figure out what they nee focus can be and how we're going to monitor our impact on parents do this in community s hip hurray.

Tayana P.'s Response Good morning. T his is Seattle Patterson and Cheryl Jones from E Linden Elementary School Yesterday's session at the Harvard Institute for closing the achievement gap. We had the p to Don Love John Love is dynamic. We could relate to her because her building is similar to OH. We really enjoyed her strategies for involving parents and getting parents connected w scores and their teachers, and she believes in whatever it takes to get her school moving. Y that the most powerful piece was when we heard the parents. Talk about how they were r and able to work with their children and how they have really set the foundation for impro takes time it takes effort, but it looked like all pieces and parts were going in the same dire with the teachers. I like the home visit concept. I mean that is amazing right. Yeah, I left the teaching phase parent teens and just involving and making sure that the parents are conn education. So I really enjoyed listening to that piece of listening to their parents and how th in powered. To help your children and I lost all my test, she talked about how she had her that was coming at her because she was prepared ready to have conversations about her d our attendance data about the academics. I liked how she was shared with parents. Conference was Don loves um discussion on family en work that she did to engage the families in her building and the reason that it sparked my that's the work that we have started at Cassidy and really trying to look at different types o in ways to engage our families. And I think we needed to hear that discussion of the buildin hear that discussion personally just so it kind of. Reaffirmed the things that we've been doi that we need to go in to continue to engage our families and just some things that we need that moving forward will continue to look at ways. Kathryn M.'s Response Alright guys I think I'm recording so today. I really liked this stuff about parenting. I think t that down into 8 tasks made it seem more doable and it would be a great way for you as a t you're meeting the needs of kids or for you to help mentor. Otherparents on ways that they be. You know more beneficial in their child's lives 'cause I have parents asked me that a lot so. I really enjoyed that part that kept my interest and then I really liked the section where need for parent involvement in schools in the way that she got itoff the ground that it took started and get fully realized, which I don't actually think seems like too long of a timeline parents.

T he elementary school liked it. So much that they basically demanded it for the middle scho that's how you really know that something like that was working. I think that that's someth steal a lot of ideas from we've actually already started to talk asa team. Of how we could us resources to set up data dinner for parents and have them come in and have food and just really informally talk and get to know, people and then afterwards go over different data points and goals fo yeah, today was great excited to see what happens tomorrow.

LaTanya F.'s Response Hi I'm the tiny hat and who South High School one of the things that stuck out to me. On Da identity project. I like how we went through the exercise of identifying roles that we play or factors that make up our identity to that point, it made me think about our students and I b to teach our students how to be. A scholar a lot of times I've heard teachers say that they'r in my class, then what steps do, we need to take in order to prepare our students to be at o What steps that we need to take to prepare our students to be in our schools. We take for them come with skill sets to be successful, but the reality to matter is, they don't. Some of t learned today when we talked about the basics things that some of us had automatically w we've given to our own children. Some of our students don't come to the table with that set place. So to me when the things I was thinking. About is how dowe build a better student? our student? How do we teach that capacity and wanting to learn? How do we teach that ca understanding mastery? How do we teach that capacity to know that to be smart to be an h to learn to grow does it mean that you have to give up any of the other roles that you play don't have to turn in your race car. You don't have to turn in your gender car. You don't even your cool card to be a scholar. I believe it's important that we teach our students how to be we encourage that role so that we can prepare them for rule authentic lifelong learning.

We have to come up with new ideas new strategies think out the box to meet our stud parents needs and then it takes a village for us to accomplish this and that I was most insp experience and. Her dedication to her students at her new idea that that she didn't try to. C school system and that's cool with a set plan that she had to figure out what worked best f our students and to get her families involved so I my takeaway is that it will take somethin creative take dedication from our students. In our parents and families and teachers and sc administrators began. It takes a village to accomplish this and so we have to go in with that something new, and different close the gap.

So we talked a little bit about community engagement strategies and how to use those things. Dave W.'s Response At Johnson Park, we have quite a few students who deal with either homelessness or just trauma in the house, but maybe a parent that is either abandoned or separated from the family so. It wa opening sad. To kind of see and talk about some of the different situations that students go were brainstorming, some of the different ways that parents leave the household I think was interesting so...

Basically, thinking about when I heard about his stuff about separating families and what what kind of support and resources can, we provide our students. You know, I thought abo in a good job and good work that she does on our building but. Kind of thinking beyond that to reach more students who are going through these different things. But also to make sur are aware of these situations because sometimes when kids out. Or just are off their a gam like writing them up and put them out as a solution and it's not always that way, maybe a c With that student to find out maybe what's going on, but it also goes with building relationships least that trust with a student teacher to be formed so they can open up to you about some thin would be more receptive for your help.

When I was younger, having a high IQ wa T hough I don't think I really knew what IQ was just you always got told after like these tes high IQ or whatever. I don't really think I do. It was nowadays. IQ typically you know whene things. Just usually has to do with identifying somebody as special it or 504 IP that they tak IQ tests. So one of the things that some takeaways that I had was the component kind of walking us through the myth of IQ that was great. 'cause they gave us context Gators background gives the historical background and some accuracy as we start thinking about IQ and the p purpose of some of the standardized assessments that we have an what they were actuall for so and then also you know, I think the big takeaway was. T hat the norm resets every 9 every every decade 9 points. T he IQ norm. Reset so everybody. Ziki should be going up 9 po decade, but it resets to the norm, so I thought that was pretty cool. And then Olicity did the and then you know sits but the task when she did the task so task predicts performance an the 2 parts where it's student and teacher change that. Kathryn M.'s Response Are you guys were just finished our third session and I have to record the slippery so trying today. We started off with some information. I've been taking up quotes old time the first o liked was because I only get to be a high school student. Once I think that's something imp when it takes years, and years to finish these processes and sometimes it's hard for people idea that we don't have 8 years to fix this for some kids, there that have one high school ex chemistry experience. One English time, then I also like the way that they used theater at t Hook all of us and it kind of came into play. Later, when we got to think of ideas as a team g involved with some PBS goals and ideas. We kept going we talked a lot about becoming a st investigator, and being kind of smart about the way we do things and political which was in investigator, and being kind of smart about the way we do things and political which was in see if I have my other big things instead of facilitating meetings run Piddies. We've done th really good feedback from teachers so trying to use some of our staff meetings to have sma piddies and groups of 30 or. Lower would I think would be really beneficial, having a calend reflect on things so they don't overlap and we stay consistent that's something that the BL then um intentional sharing I quoted just I don't know why I did that, but it was working fo afternoon. We use our session to think of a way that the BLT can check some of our outcom steps, an owl actually shared a really helpful table with us where we start with our outcom work backwards and figure out OK. What do the adults have to do or what did the commun do? What are the tasks that we need in order to support those adults and then what is the need? What are the resources we need so I think that's something we can really dig into be calendar at the beginning of the year on it, it was great, thanks.

Elementary school over on the Nort really exciting news from Don Love and it gave us a lot of hope because these are a lot of the same things that we are also doing in our building and we have also seen drastic. Drastic developments with our with our. Data. Behavior Dater dropping Anna growth in positive climate and cultu the staff. So we're excited to continue that family engagement work when we get back to s Don Love for that wonderful I'm in engaging time yesterday. So we do have a list of things that we're going to try to focus on with our families and going to continue working with the team to to know develop multiple perspectives to see what would be best for the most of our student goodnight.

Nicol K.'s Response Hi Nicole Cool Arts Impact Middle School school counselor. So this is Day 5 wrapup and are thank you Ron for what we've learned. grid. And. T his is how we go about pulling it all together so. I think identify our assets and our gaps. And then Talk specifically about our actions for how we're those gaps. An approach. Our staff with what needs to be done.I think we need obviously t talk about those things to identify what roles people are going to play in our core team. An commitments from people to do what they say they're going to do. So I think we frame this coaching. We need a coach people and we need to bring back what we've learned and help people. About what we know to be true and if we need to confront them with things that th work against our why. I know that we talked about our steps as being we need to increase engagement. We need to rebrand our program and our building.We need to build trust with community and I think that's true for the entire city of Columbus Columbus City Schools ha perception in our community, which is completely false and we need to work to change tha And to strengthen what we know that we're doing well. We need to focus on high expectat practices. And help. Our teachers in our staff believe that Smart is something that all kids c can get smart and then challenge. T hose excuses for why people think that's not true. We also our work around building positive climate and culture. And that would involve restorat monthly growth mindset activities and then growing our student leadership within our bui A small narrow focus of ideas and I know that we need to start small and we need to start that's manageable something that we can do otherwise the work won't get done so. Information g last 5 days. I've really had a good time. So we all have discussedand learning so much abou there is a gap among our students an now that we've attended a conference in back home. get to work and to begin to put a plan in place to work together as administrators and teac students, so one thing I took away from the conference is that? Is going to take courage jus planning is going to take everyone coming together to reach those people? Who are who ar make a difference to educate our students to get our students involve our parents involved things are necessary, so as we reflect over the next 2 weeks come on August we must. Edmund B.'s Response T his is Ed Baker from Columbus, Ohio principle. South High School and I 1st of all I would like to say that this was an extremely enjoyable experience I had that pleasure and honor to have 10 of m members here on the campus of Harvard. Studying and learning, but most important valida that we have embarked on in my 6 year journey at South High School. T he biggest piece of biggest takeaway, I would say is. Really for us to stay the course I would say a lot of the thi our school are now connected to valid research and that we implement them on a high Fide basis, then I would say our student success in our student. How comes will be paramount? say we need to make sure that we are teaching not just 2 are average students, but 2 are a our below average students so that we can have successful all students one of the major f going. Back is I know there are an extreme amount of gaps in our building. T he different ge various variables, but the one thing that I really want to key in on as we go into the 2019 2 looking at how can we engage? Are males because there is a huge gap between our female students but also are males, especially our African American male students really make up the gaps. So we're not just going to cater to our young boys, butwe really want to take a loo get them to be successful? How we can get them focused and engaged and how we can adj practices, so that they can learn on the higher levels that they can achieve.

I also want to say thank you to Ron for all his insight for all of the research. All of the presentations that were relevant to practice and hopefully we can take it back and we can make a difference and we can get ou higher. T hank you and enjoy the rest of your time here at the conference.

T ina A.'s Response Hi my name is Taylor I work at Cassidy teach grades 3 through 5 intervention Hello. My nam I am a fourth grade teacher. I wanna first by saying first by saying. T hank you to Columbus principle. Randall all the instructors. T his was an amazing event. It has it really has change only just education. But how to be a better person when it comes to dealing with children o outstanding. T he information was outstanding. T he data that was shown to us in real time was so well put together it show that we have work to do, but we also have done a lot at th don't have to give up hope. You know, we can take these strategies and apply them and we change the schools that we work at in the communities of the parents that work there. I w parent engagement affinity team because we talked about so many awesome ideas on fam how to uplift the quality appearance of the quality of the school. Just getting the kids to un education is a universal thing. So I Love Maya. Today I want to also start by saying. T hank y City Schools to Randall and Doctor Ferguson. He inspired me in so many ways how he's usin knowledge. His passion to influence and change the world on that definitely inspired. Are I teacher teacher leaders and what I got out of that is that? We as teachers on control the qu that we give our students. We also talked about bubble kids. Focusing on subgroups and Je does not assure success for all our students. We have to have high expectations for all of o that we have to get to the root cause of our problems. Most of us feel beds technical things tutors. We need more resources. But we have to be adaptive. Getting to the root cause of p to identify what we have control over what we have control over we need to influence and adaptive. In our approach to education and assure what we do that. Dave W.'s Response Good morning. T his is our last day at the Harvard Institute. Once again, I'm David Walker p Park just wanted to kind of summarize briefly if I could so many things that we learn just looking at the data.

Uh. When it comes to Ethnicities White Black is spending just the disparity in academic achi Of course, we always known that there is this achievement gap. But it was just kind of alarmin it's not something's new. It's been like this for quite some time. Listening to his love talk ab turned around her elementary school. I think was was pretty beneficial for me and inspirat like parent engagement. And high expectations of teachers in what they teacher or somebo turn are built in around in Johnson Park. So I'm looking forward to bring it back. Some of th were already excited about planning academic parent night and they did. I think about once we're going to do the same thing. So we'll talk more about that, but we also just kind of ma more structure with what we do next year when it comes to our time for corn, Richmond aft and just also a teacher clarity, making shorted our objectives are clear and students unders in the student friendly language and that you're constantly and not constantly. But at least frequently going through and going back to those objectives. Before they leave as they come into the classro kids know where their scores are at and where we need to go. So it looks like parent engag expectations of our students when it comes to our classroom instruction or some of the key work at Johnson Park and just in schools in general so. As a good time networking with peo of the different stories and some of the same struggles and challenges at all these differen looking forward to a New Year Alright.
