RECREATION
Many visitors to Two Fox Cabins are in the area because of the numerous recreational opportunities. The Grandote Peaks championship golf course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, is rarely crowded and offers some of the most spectacular views of any golf course in Colorado. There are many fishing, hiking, and sightseeing opportunities in the area as well. Cycling is a big draw, and the community sponsors the Stonewall Century bike ride each year. A quick trip up the Highway of Legends reveals geology only seen in a few places across the globe. The Cuchara Mountain Park offers limited downhill and Nordic ski opportunities each winter and a challenging disc golf course in the summer.

La Veta features a high-altitude, semi-arid climate with distinct seasons. Summers are warm, averaging 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit, with occasional 90s and frequent thunderstorms. Fall cools to the 60s and 70s, displaying vibrant foliage. Winters are cold, averaging 30s to 40s Fahrenheit with moderate snowfall, around 40-50 inches annually. Spring sees a gradual warming with mixed precipitation, transitioning into blooming seasons.

LOCATION
