This thesis will examine the de-politicisation of the neoliberal city and its mutation into a new urban condition of uneven development, both globally and locally, escalating crises of housing affordability and social displacement.

THE EROSION OF POLITICS IN THE URBAN SPHERE THE PLUTOCRATIC GROUND AND THE NEOLIBERAL CITY Featuring the Cauldron as intervention. The Cauldron is a theoretical architectural project which builds on Arendtian ideas of limit and boundary, proposing a strategy for resistance to free-market urban housing development through monopolising mass-housing provision in a generic bordered form.
