Study and Organizing STips tudy and Organizing Tips

Always set a schedule

Know what pace is best for you, through trial and error you will eventually find what study habit suits you. Just don’t be too slow or you’ll lose a lot of time. Rest and Relax

Getting enough rest is vital for our brains to function well. Take some stress off by breathing, exercising, and clearing your mind before studying. Write the important stuff

Don’t force your brain storing every detail. Instead, write them down using a pen or on your phone/computer. There are many tools that helps to stay organized.

When you’re studying, turn off all distractions such as silencing your phone and blocking access to social media, especially during your online classes. Find a study area Study in a place where you find peace and silence that helps you focus. Your brain is better suited to work/study in these areas.

Reward Yourself!

All of these tips won’t be easy to do if you don’t reward yourself. Watch a movie or play a game from time to time, just to keep things well balanced.

Study at your own pace

It’s easy to slack off and do the work later, eventually it will pile up to the point that it’s overwhelming. Set a schedule to do study and work, even little by little.

Remove all distractions

Events in UPLB

If you like music festivals, UPLB is most definitely for you. Every year on Valentine’s Week, the Freedom Park is filled with food stalls and org booths offering events and prizes. There’s also the main concert area for student protests and daily performances by your local artists ranging from uprising talent to well-known names. In a relationship or not, you will learn to love in Feb Fair Week.

FEB FAIR

SPORT EVENTS The names might be different but the games aren’t. These semester-long events are the most intense and best moments of your college life. You get to experience rivalries, sportsmanship, and the beauty of competition. EngMeet / PalaCASan / CEMplangan

QUIZ CON From your favorite TV series to random facts, UPLB’s QuizCons’ themes will always keep you guessing about what will come next. Win or lose, these events are always a pleasure to be a part of.

KARAOKE NIGHT, PARTIES, and CHILL NIGHTS Happy? Sad? Or anything in between? We always deserve a celebration with friends. Some of the best moments in your college life are not constrained within the four corners of the University but within the midst of your friends. Burst your emotions through singing in the videoke bars at Grove, attending some parties organized by students, or joining your friends in their chill-numan.

GRADUATION

The culmination of all your blood, sweat, and tears throughout your stay at the University. It’s a magical moment that no one can take away from you. Hearing the beating of the drums as they sing UP Naming Mahal will definitely pull a string in your heart and squeeze a tear out of your eyes. Be there even if it’s not your turn yet.

DORMS Dand ORMS and APARTMENTS APARTMENTS If you have other preferences, try to check out these areas near the UP gate and OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS. Like most freshies, finding a dormitory or an apartment is a struggle. So, let’s help you ease that mindless walking around UPLB. Here are some popular areas to visit if you’re looking for a “home sweet home” in LB. If you’re on a TIGHT BUDGET or just want to SAVE MONEY, we recommend you look for UP dorms. Note that the names are color-coded corresponding to the arrows and marks on the map. You can visit this website for a complete list: https://uho.uplb.edu.ph/services/student housing https://uplbosa.org/housing/dormitories https://uplbosa.org/download/dorm app guidelines2 OPTION 1 OPTION 2

We recommend walking along the KALIWA route. Don’t hesitate to enter the passageways there as there are lots of apartments inside each. Walk until the last passageway near the newly-built bridge. Note that there’s also a dormitory inside the St. Therese Church.

Enter the road where Bonitos’s restaurant is located; this is near Micha’s bakeshop. As you enter. The road will split into 2 streets. You can check both streets since both have several apartments.

Big Belly’s is a restaurant between the 1st and 2nd jeepney stop in the KANAN route. This restaurant has apartments around it.

Big Belly’s Area

Raymundo Area

Located near the 2nd jeepney stop in the KANAN route. Known for the Raymundo gate in front of a waiting shed near the College of Economics and Management (CEM). Has many cafeterias to eat, laundry shops, and sari-sari stores.

Apartments in KALIWA

·Commonly known as F.O., this is a street near Mer-Nel’s cakes. There are apartments along this street. The end of this street is connected to the road with the Raymundo Gate. Agapita Area

F.O. Santos Street

·This is a little far from the UP gate but you might want to consider checking this area since apartments near the campus get easily occupied. This area is known because of the Agapita Plaza. You can find this area near the Mercury drug store and 7-11. You can also check out the road opposite the road of the actual Agapita Plaza (as indicated on the map).
