Thanks to the coordinating efforts of the county’s Solid Waste Oversight Committee and the involvement of several organizations and area governments, countywide recycling is becoming a reality, one that is sure to cut down on the nearly 22,000 tons of waste being generated by residents annually -- of which only 750 tons, in past years, has been recycled.
