FACTORY RENOVATION Building Type : Industrial Location : Patalganga, Maharashtra Size : 1,00,000 sq.ft.

A food grade chemical company had approached, looking to double the storage capacity within an existing factory located at Patalganga MIDC area. The plan eventually was to revamp around a lac sqft of floor area along with a certain external repairing + Facade cladding work in line with the Industry standards.

WORKERS CANTEEN AREA

A lot of basic amenities were expanded and given a much required face lift.

A total 3500 sqft of worker’s canteen area was carved out along with its own kitchen and other infrastructure needed for it to be self- sufficient. Sliding folding tables, Handwash vessels, bain merry, etc. were all customized to suit their daily routine and maintain for a proper hygiene.

Office area of about 3000 sqft included 4 cabins, workstations for 8 people, archive room, conference room, a management pantry, a Server room, a reception room and two rest rooms. each cabin has an individual window opening onto the dispatch for constant surveillance of work while being in the comfort of ones own cabin.

FACTORY RENOVATION Building Type : Industrial Location : Patalganga, Maharashtra Size : 1,00,000 sq.ft.

Quality Control Lab and Micro lab spaces contributed to another 4000 sqft with absolute attention to HVAC and MEP systems - the core set up that would make any lab functional. Spaces like Organoleptic, Instrument room, GC room, Muffle furnace, Raw material and Finished goods storage were designed carefully as per the desired specifications along with a Cabin for the Quality head, a QUALITY CONTROL LAB

conference room and 8- seater workstation to felicitate the its lighting and socket requirements - all as per Industrial employees working in the Quality control Unit.

Standards and keeping safety as top priority.

FACTORY MAKEOVER Building Type : Industrial Location : Vapi, Gujarat Size : 67,800 sq.ft.

This structure, of an overall area of 6300m, called for two major works, namely : 1. solving the storage problem on site,doubling up the efficiency using the same resources and in the land parcel available.

The current haywire development required to track down the current utility of the space and rethink, at the master plan level, strategies to double up the existing storage capacity thereby allowing space for newer inventories and experimentations.

A technique was devised to maximize wind flow across the factory for lesser reliance on electricity and mechanical ventilation, thereby also allowing for a more habitable environment for the workers working at all levels at the same time.

FLORA ECO STAY Building Type : Hospitality Location : Lonavala, Maharashtra Size : 9500 sq.ft.

An architecture site with a budget crunch simply brings us with more opportunities to do what we love best Refurbishing, Recycling and Up cycling.

A Eco stay just 15mins from the Lonavala Main market was to undergo a makeover with all the existing conditions and furnitures that were there on site. The building was

supposed to stay and client was more interested in the kind of a ‘cosmetic makeover’ of the whole place. With a strict deadline 1.5months, the task in hand seemed to be huge and a challenging one.

Changes were suggested at the planning level to free up the space and allow for free movement around. Introduction

of bold pop of colors added much needed vibrancy and spotlight on things that needed to remain in focus while subduing others than don’t. It was an attempt to bring in some hierarchy to the space, that automatically made the place look organized and uncluttered in perception.

Existing lighting mixed with a few additions to them created a perfect setting for weekend getaway evenings.

Local Artisans were invited to flaunt their skills on this huge 1:1 live size canvas.

The ‘Spiral Stage’ right from the center of an existing tree sets up transforming the forever unused backyards into a more people centric hotspot. Lot of multi-purpose activities can be hosted here like a private dinner, small gathering or even a Live- singing night.

THE WELCOMING RETIREMENT Building Type : Residential,

Hospitality Location : Siolim, Goa Size : 9,500 sq.ft.

A challenging task was assigned by a couple who wished to spend their retirement days amidst the serene beauty of Siolim, Goa. The intent was not just to settle as an individual but to open the doors for locals, travelers,explorers and everyone else who comes to embrace the Goan landscapes and Goan Culture. They planned on converting their retirement above into a center for interaction, communication and center for cultural exchange.

The idea was to create a comfortable and warm setup for themselves blending in with the local architecture of the place. Local elements are corbellings, coving pattis, gargoyles, we added to resonate the local touch so even locals feel safe to be around amidst the recent trend of excessive influx of people from all over the world buying lands in the city and converting into iconic landmarks.

Multiple spaces of rest and pauses have been incorporated

in the design and planning of the homestay to provide with necessary footprints to be able to host community events and get togethers.

This project marks our attempt to create sufficient public to private transitional spaces while maintaining a good balance of built, semi-built and unbuilt - “openness” amidst the peaceful Goan context.

THE MILLOWNER’S VILLA Building Type : Residential, Location : Pareli, Maharashtra Size : 5,500 sq.ft.

A family house was planned in the property of a functioning with a storage warehouse, while the first floor would be Rice and Poha mill run by the owner himself on the plot the family’s residence cantilevering on all sides thereby owned by them for the last 50years. providing more area for the house itself. All rooms were with balconies that provided for the much needed offset from The layout was made multi functional in nature, The ground the climatic conditions prevailing in the region especially floor of the structure was planned as a working office along rainfall while also adding to building of the facade.

An interesting concept of ‘niche Dukaan, upar Makaan’ was thought of that would seamlessly incorporate the elements of a commercial as well residential architecture design.

The house also boasts of an entire footprint of a terrace as demanded by the clients for use in their usual routines.

THE HOUSE THAT CONNECTS Building Type : Residential Location : Ghotti, Maharashtra Size : 2,500 sq.ft.

Ghoti villa is conceptualized as a house having a conversation with its context be it the village Street on the front side of it or the Mountains spanning across at the back. The house consists of a one bedroom kitchen and a living room on the ground floor and the a living room and three bedrooms on the above floors.

In spite of a humble 1000 sq ft. Plot size, this bungalow

doesn’t fail to adopt the slow lifestyle of the village, be it by providing an inviting ‘katta’ or even maximizing views and spaces by providing multiple windows and overlooking terraces.

The living room was made into a central double height space allowing the bedrooms to look into the space creating interesting elevations within the house. This was

made possible by shifting complete area for circulation outside the core central space thereby wrapping it all around.

The constant struggle to creates warm spaces and interesting corners and trying to ‘make space’ is what creates a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor.

Site limitations made it necessary to evolve/resolve the house sectionally rather than in plan, in order to fit in all the clients requirements yet make it a spacious and comfortable experience for his living.

WADHWA HOUSE Building Type : Residential Location : Ghatkopar, Mumbai Size : 2,100 sq.ft.

Two 2-bhk apartments were clubbed together to make a 2100 sqft. 4bhk house for a total of 6 people. This joining of 2 apartments led to a grand 90sqft. Entrance foyer and roughly 700 sq.ft. living room - The most active space of the house.

We were given a simple design brief - to make something that looks elegant but at the same time is as low on maintenance

for the family as possible.

A grand entrance foyer lets you enter in the living space at the center with a small house mandir to the right and kitchen to the left. A long balcony (the entire length of the living room), on the opposite side of the mandir and kitchen presents us with a complete 180 degree view panoramic

The other side of the living room includes a dining area with an additional seating space in the form of a diwan (Indian Seating) enclosed by a jula demarcation an informal seating space. The entry to the bedrooms are the two ends of the living room.

The bedrooms in the contrary are highly customised and speaks a lot about the user of the room. The master bedroom, though based on the same larger idea, reflects a more personal touch in the contemporary style.

Govind’s Residence Building Type : Residential Location : Wadala, Mumbai Size : 1,750 sq.ft.

We were approached to design a 4-bhk residential be highlighted and act as a showcase in itself. The bedroom patterns, we wished to create a high- profile, upscale and apartment in the upcoming plush township in Wadala for a palette consisted of warm colors, to offset the flooring, and urbane space. young couple and their 3 year old son. add to the vibrant, yet somber ambiance of the space.

FRAMED Building Type : Residential Location : Ghatkopar, Mumbai Size : 750 sq.ft.

The master bedroom has a neat and simple material palette. It has an accent color behind the headboard on one side while the Jute soft board is extended till the ceiling level for the remaining.

WORLI HOUSE Building Type : Residential Location : Worli, Mumbai Size : 350 sq.ft.

We were approached to convert an extra 1 room kitchen apartment that the family living next door owned into a nice ‘ideal’ bedroom for the freshly married couple. The new space would have a bedroom, balcony facing the sea, Walk-in wardrobe and toilet area - a perfect setting for the couple just starting out.

An interesting combination of cozy and minimal bedroom ends up being their ‘chill out’ spot where they call friends with a modern toilet was thought to give them private space and just - do nothing. for themselves yet feel at home.

A compact 500 sq.ft front office for a medical wholesaler was thought upon to accommodate his constant increasing requirement to recruit more staff. Also,to take care of their working environment as well.

A simple, warm scheme was thought out incorporating a Ceiling heights we carefully measured to accommodate a

decent storage at the mezzanine level. The staircase taking you to the storage level was treated as a central highlighting element of the office and can be viewed even from the outside.

OFFICE FOR A FRAGRANCE COMPANY Building Type : Commercial Location : Lower Parel,

MULTI PURPOSE HALL Building Type : Hospitality Location : Ghatkopar,

Maharashtra Size : 1000 sq.ft.

A venerable Hospitality group sought a comprehensive revitalization of their formerly dormant property, once a thriving hub for events. The endeavor to reclaim its former grandeur encountered formidable challenges, chiefly the limited ceiling height (8 ft from the beam to the floor) and the prominence of the existing waffle beam grid structure.

The solution involved a significant reduction of the deep beam grid structure through the implementation of a stepped design in an inverted configuration. To enhance the visual appeal of the space, the central aisle was accentuated with brown-tinted mirrors and elegantly suspended chandeliers, thereby intensifying the vibrancy of the entire area.

This meticulously crafted design caters to the versatility required for hosting a diverse range of events. It seamlessly serves as a timeless backdrop to complement the decor upfront or can stand independently, exuding its own distinct charm when the occasion demands.

DJ LIQUOR STORE Building Type : Retail Location : Kalyan, Maharashtra Size : 800 sq.ft.

A main road facing liquor store was conceptualized utilizing the 26feet shop frontage to its maximum while being subtle in its details at the same time. Located at one of the most prime locations, a thought was also given to maximize the wall areas for display while not appearing too loud for the customers standing on the opposite side of the counter.

The clients being stringent Vastu believers, the store was made extremely Vastu Compliant and under guidance of a professional Vastu consultant right From planning and designing to even finalizing the overall color schemes.

A central structural column in the space which could’ve

been an eyesore because of its visibility from the front was made optimum use of by creating it the highlight of the store with all the premium brands displayed there.

SAMEER SALMANI - THE SALON Building Type : Retail Location : Kalyan, Maharashtra Size : 800 sq.ft.

A luxury theme salon in Bandra required interiors that speak shear elegance and stands for what the brand is all about.

The monochromatic theme was thought out that adds to the idea of classy yet neat/clean salon brand. Being in a tight space the challenge was to create a space for every section

yet bind it all together without making it look enclosed.

Branding has been done smartly by incorporating it with the interiors and using it as an asthetic element.

The idea of frames and partition is used widely to overcome this design challenge. The white furniture compliments the A parametric modeled logo was also crafted suiting the grey salon making it seamless in the space. theme and personality of the salon.

STRETCH 1 An attempt to rejuvenate the lost significance of Karha river was made by adding ecoponds and ecobunds at regular intervals along the 4.8kms stretch which would help retain the lost flora fauna. Gabion walls would replace the concretising of river bodies. walkway and cycling track would run along the sides in a meandering manner for locals to use and interact.

OPEN BARAMATI PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ALONG KARHA RIVER Imagined as a folded leaf- this pedestrian bridge along the Karha river was proposed as an extension plan to connect the 2 promenade edges.

An idea to take a pause on the bridge while looking at Babuji Naik Wada in the front was facilitated through outdoor steps along the path.

TEEN HAATHI CHOWK - RE IMAGINING THE TOWN CENTER An existing bottle necked junction was reinterpreted to create some open space right into the heart of Baramati. An existing straight overpass above the canal was re imagined, thereby creating a circular central park with tree groves and seating spaces around the canal.

THE OLD BABUJI NAIK WADA & ITS LOST SIGNIFICANCE Babuji Naik Wada- A historic fort, converted into Baramati Police station, was to be brought back to its glory convert it into a tourist spot. All the old stone structures were conserved and programs like Sabhagriha, Open Air Amphitheatre, Restaurant and Museum etc. were added.

Site located along the foothills of the Matheran hill range 120 m wide Multi-model corridor (MMC) from Virar to Uran leaving a large void in the cityscape. this leads to a constant providing spectacular views/backdrop to the project. provides direct access to the site.
