LEARN HOW !

Spring is here and there are roses, tulips, freesias, lilies, orchids, and more varieties of dazzling beauties. There's no better time to learn how to turn the flowers in your garden into a blooming work of art. But there's more to creating beautiful arrangements and making them look better than just putting flowers in a vase. With some preparation and a few tips and tricks, you can use the same techniques as the pros to create stunning flower arrangements. But, first, let's get to know some theoretical aspects of floristry.

Floral theory consists of planning or organizing strategies to ensure aesthetically pleasing floral designs, and it is also a way of analyzing composition. Colour, shape, space, line, and texture are the five design elements.

There’s something about fresh flowers that makes us feel extra special. Anyone can place flowers in a vase and finish it off, what makes it special is that a little thoughtfulness can go a long way. By making an aesthetically appealing arrangement and at the same time ensuring flowers maintain colour and freshness.

❖Decide on Design

The first thing is to decide on the design. Consider how you want the overall silhouette and shape to be before starting the actual arrangement process. As we already cited above picking the right elements, i.e. colours, textures, and shapes will make all the difference.

❖Select the right showstoppers

As colour is often the starting point, pull out the blooms that have the most personality or are the most vibrant which complement each other. Imagine flowers playing the lead role and any other fillers as your supporting cast. Try to stick to the brightest and most visually appealing pieces(just like arranging the brightest options in a toy stores in Dubai) and add them as focal flowers.

❖Create a base foundation

Once you're ready to start arranging and all set with tools and materials, create a base layer using filler flowers and leaves by trimming the stems of the flowers. It may be tempting to layer in bright colours right away but resist the urge. Sticking with a neutral foundation gives you enough space to play later and keeps the overall aesthetic from feeling cluttered. Remove excess leaves below the waterline to keep the water clean and prevent fungal growth. Place the flowers in a bucket

❖Build - measure the shape and structure

After the foundation is all set, you can expand and experiment. To make the bouquet more organic in shape, use loose leaves and include fewer flowers. Next, measure the flower's height, keeping your original silhouette in mind to create depth and interest. To do this, place the flower next to the container and run through where you want to cut it. Always keep in mind, you can trim off, but you can't add length back.

❖Gentle with focal flowers

Now for the most rewarding and exciting part — go back through and add stand-out colours with your focal flowers. These flowers should be the largest and most eye-catching blossoms in your selection. You will come across flower shops Dubai that have a wide variety of blooms. Try to add focal flowers in odd numbers to make it look more natural. Rotate the vases to make sure they're evenly filled, alternating heights, shapes, and colours throughout the arrangement.

❖Finish with fillers

This last step is often overlooked, but possibly the most effective, as it won’t give your arrangement an overcrowded or clumpy look but rather make it feel cohesive and complete.

After adding the focal flowers, run a quick scan to see if any spots look bare. If there are any gaps or uneven areas, add fillers with smaller blooms or additional greenery.

And there you have it, your beautiful floral arrangement is ready! Remember to let your creativity guide you and try experimenting with different combinations of flowers and foliage. With practice, you'll become more confident and develop your creativity in floral arranging. And who knows, in the future you might make it a profession and commercialize it by taking huge orders from the mall in Dubai.
