WINNING PROJECT: THE VIETNAMESE BOAT PEOPLE MEMORIAL, 2020 ) Site Plan | 1:200 VOYAGER’S LANDING Competition project Duration: 4 weeks B
This was the winning entry for the competition on Vietnamese boat people memorial wall design. This was a group project and my role was in the design process, material selection ,3D modelling and render. the project site is the 17th Ave in Calgary beside the international avenue. The overall form of the space was inspired by the shape of a boat, with organic wave of the south edge emulating the ocean and making room for the seating and planting. All plants selected are extremly hardy and drought tolerant due to high degree of solar exposure and dry conditionsof the site.

Worked on several projects of different scales and details
FOCUS AND MASTERPLAN: THE CORRI-DOOR TO BOW ( FINAL STUDIO WINTER 19 ) EVDL 667 1st year studio Duration: 4 weeks This project won the Mayor’s Urban Design Award 2019. The idea of this project was to create a framework leading to a masterplan using historic and existing site conditions. A no. of factors shaped this frame work to create a master plan and focus. The pupose was to design some existing corridors for ease of access to the site and also ease of movement around keeping the edge conditions in mind.

SITE DESIGN ( FINAL STUDIO FALL 18 ) EVDP 625 1st year studio Duration: 2 weeks The site is located in one of the most historic places in Calgary. Its just adjacent to a major road, 12 St. SE. The wonderful Bow River flows in front of it and the new 12 St. bridge links this area with the Calgary zoo on the other side of this river. This area is a mixed use zone. In addition to the seasonal activities like ice canoe in winter, bird watching, art walks, hiking and biking, there are a lot of pedestrian and bike movements in and around the site which lead to the design thinking of a bike rental store and coffee shop area. Concept Development The concept of the design started after analysis of some historical aerial photos. The strong axis near the site created by the old 12 st. bridge lead me to an idea of creating a visual linkage over the Bow river.

THESIS ( UDERGRAD , 2012) Butterfly Conservatory and Research Center. Duration: 4 months Year: 2011 This was my final year undergrad thesis project. The program included a conSevatory, research center and musem. The structural system was inspired from butterfly wing patterns and the concept of the spatial zoning was from the metaporphosis stages of a butterfly.

HAND SKETCHES I am most comfortable with monochrome sketches as I think it can bring out the textures and context of the content quite prominently.
INSECT MACRO PHOTOGRAPHS AND SCULPTURES Insect macro photography is my hobby. I have been photographing and studying insect and minute details in nature, drawing inspiration to interpret in my design processes. Below are some photographs and sculputres which I make from recycled and found materials.
