WorkAdvance is an innovative program that boosts the skills of entry-level applicants and individuals belonging to populations that have been under-represented in the manufacturing sector. to
The comprehensive program fuels long-term success. It starts with grassroots outreach and targeted recruitment. Then our community’s experts provide career readiness training, work experience opportunities, and guidance in career planning.
Recognizing that support goes beyond training, WorkAdvance provides wraparound assistance to address unique needs and circumstances, such as transportation and childcare.

WorkAdvance Findlay invites all individuals interested in jumpstarting their career to apply for program participation. Individuals complete an online application, providing their demographics, reasons for applying, and past work experience. All applicants then receive a follow-up call from WorkAdvance Findlay’s screening partner (the Financial Opportunity Center [FOC]) to further discuss the program and determine if the program is the right fit for the applicant. Together, the FOC and applicants agree to a partnership in training and coaching.

The coaches serve as additional support when barriers to work and job success seem insurmountable. Individuals receive help securing transportation, arranging for bank accounts to deposit their work checks, improving their credit scores to secure stable housing, and more. The coaches continue to check in with program completers on a routine basis, making sure to keep WORK PLACEMENT and RETENTION the key objectives for graduates. 90% Findlay Residents
