My brand idea is a large venue space where people who are into the hobby of tabletop role playing games or those who would be interested in joining the hobby can come and play their games with their friends. What sets it apart from just playing at home is that the rooms that can be reserved are all themed around traditional fantasy settings such as dungeons, dragon’s lair,

I used the fantasy element of dragons and created a simplified dragon’s wing to convey what kind of service or envirnoment can be expected from my

brand. I added the compass in the logo as well to add in a symbol of adventuring anf exploration which are elements that are in TTRPGs.

tavern, and more. Players will really feel that they have stepped into a fantasy world when they play in the rooms since rooms will be made to resemble these locations with a lot of style and/or details, like a movie set. Patrons are more than welcome to come in their cosplays (costumes) and bring in their own props such a foam swords, shields, armor, and other objects, and the place would even have a selection of props people can rent/borrow

in order to create a more immersive experience. While the services are fun for people who visit, the greater cause of the establishment would be to create a safe community space where people can gather in person to revel in the hobby that is TTRPGs. Encouraging people to talk to each other and have fun playing games and telling stories in the hopes of encouraging people to express themselves and grow and have fun.

Throuhout all of the different mediums that I advertised with, I wanted to create a unified style for the whole campaign that would all represent the identity of the brand. I picked out three fonts tat would be used, two display fonts for major pieces of information that

Professional

I would include in the promotional materials that are script since the nature of TTRPGs were pen and paper games. I picked out a simple sans serif font for all body text since it would make the reading expereince better and many official books from TTRPGs use

simple fonts since a lot of reading is usually invoked in this hobby. In all of the ads I made sure to higlight certain words or phrases that represent the brand such as “friendly”, “themed”, “cosplay friendly”, and “authenthic” since I want these values of be represented if I had to choose what little bit of information someone remembers with only a

glance at my promotional mateirals. My ads all follow the idea of fantasy coming to life so I created imagery that would give the appearance of fantasy items such as a carriage, a knight on a horse, or even a bounty posted on a wooden board and integreate them in our society today. They all share the same idea and style to be unified.

The idea for this brand came from my current hobby of playing Dungeons and Dragons with some of my friends, most of my other brands have been cute or artistic so i wanted to try something new. I went with an alcoholic drink brand that has elements of traditional fantasy. I first thought how some beer cans come in a cardboard box

and from there I imagined if the box looked like a chest. A typical fantasy monster is called a “mimic” and it takes the form of a treasure chest usually and so the idea for my package was created. The aim of this project was to learn how to make print ready files and integrate spot colors which Pantone color were used for this assignment.

I sell the idea of a fantsy based brewery, I used the elements of a wizard’s hat, a wooden mug, and a potion vial and branded it like a sign for a tavern in a fantasy setting with a script font for the name.

Since the theme of the brand is fantasy, I wanted to use a font that would represent that and so I used a script font that looked like writing in ink that could belong is a medieval setting. I used negative typography since

lost of the background would be dark, brown colors that would make dark text hard to read. For secondary text I used a serif font that has varying stroke weights since I would help stand out from the background.

The premise of the package would be that it looks like a treasure chest with a wooden texture and a metallic gold color to really sell the illusion. 12 cans would come in each box and the box

itself would be made of a sturdy material that could handle the weight of the drinks and also the low temperatures and moisture that such drinks usually encounter in the store or at home.

The special effect that I wanted to capture was revealing to the consumer that the chest is spposed to be a mimic. In order to do this I designed a tongue that would go inside of the box and when it was opened for the first time, the tongue

would pop out. I did this by coiling the tongue on the inside and it would be held by the inner walls of the box, and once the lid was opened then the tongue would have nothing holding it back and it would unravel and stick out of the box.

I tried a few sketches to see what icon would represent the vibe of my magazine and I ended up with a rouch sketch of a hand grasping a diploma and then I ran it through image trace in Illustrator

since I prefer to work with a rougher style when it comes to drawing. I wanted to convery who the target audience is with the logo and the imagery can be associated with upper education.

Collegiate Journal is all about college and university students and their lifestyle and culture. The rest of my projects have been related to fantasy so I wanted to change it up and make this project a bit more grounded. I wanted to include topics that I would find interesting or useful such as recipes, workour recommendations, what pop culture trends are popular, and even what community events I would take part in as a student. Each page would have a different design to help the magazine stay interesting to read.

This magazine is very much down to earth so I wanted to be a bit more conservative with my cover design whihc explains the photo that I used. The typography is close to the fonts that are used for varsity jackets that are linked with college or university themes.

In the recipe section, I played with the typography of the headline to have parallels to the actual meaning of the title. I also created mnay paragraph styles to easily created lists of ingredients and steps and made sure to include photos of the final products. I made sure to created different areas that would contain different types of meals to make it easy to find what you are craving.

Many students are active both in the gym or in other activites and so I wanted to create a more organized layout with sections that explain how and why it is important to workout and added some recommended routines to help people get started. I added in extra sections that is shaded in blue of a side article of a doctor giving their insight on the topic which breaks up the page layout composition.

People love to be caught up with the popular shows and movies so I wanted this spread to have many photos of actors or actresses since they would be part of the main focus. I added in some pictures in the middle of the text since that is often seen in tabloid magazines. I used bullet points to help add variety of the body text.

Many students who are not local to the area might want to find local places to have fun at or find events that can look great on a resume. This page is more informative so the composition is more conservative with less distractions. I also added more side articles that would share additional importation for resume building.

My affinity for fantasy makes a return here where I made a section about what students might be interested in a special topic that would varry from issue to issue of the magazine. I use more images since the topic is more light-hearted and energetic. The following pages are a full page magazine and a page encouraging students to submit ideas for topics that could be convered in the next issue.
