Creative inspiration can come from anywhere, and develops as time goes on, morphing to end up in a completely different direction.
Swan Lake originated in the nude trend that I love, reminiscent of ballet slippers. Swan lake, with the black swan were my attempt to bring the range to a moodier place. Now the only relation between the range, and ballet are the names!
Once you have some inspiration in your mind’s eye, you see it everywhere! We walk Milo around a lake in Melbourne which is full of black swans. Spring was especially beautiful, due to all the fluffy cygnets. Even Milo loves the swans (although not for the same reasons).
In contrast, on my last visit to the UK, I spent a lot of time watching the stunning white swans in Kensington Gardens, admiring their pride and grace.
As a result of starting down this path, I have become a little swan mad! I hope you enjoy our interpretation.
