GLOUCESTER ROOM
Sam Wood is a London-based artist born in Gloucestershire. His works explore ideas about home and belonging, utilising bold colour and line to describe the landscapes of his rural upbringing, the urban environments he now inhabits and the blurred lines between the two.
In a new series of works created for Bryan O'Sullivan Collection, Wood presents an homage to the iconic London hotel, Claridge's, as well as incorporating pieces which explore themes from his wider work.
"The joy of detail is in each of these works and the idea of a home from home. I tell stories about place and belonging in my work and that's the magic that Claridge’s uses too, to take something small and elevate it to a fine art.’

The invitation to show this new body of work at the Bryan O’Sullivan Collection in Mayfair, comes from Wood’s ongoing collaborative relationship with the Bryan O'Sullivan Studio. The collaborations have included commissions for murals for private residential projects, the ceiling of the Bryan O’Sullivan Collection gallery itself and the Private Dining Room of Claridge's Restaurant.
