RIA Wales & Western represents 70+ RIA members across Wales and the South West of England. Rail in this part of the UK supports some 74,500 jobs and £3.6bn GVA (22,800 jobs and £1bn GVA in Wales; and 51,700 jobs and £2.6bn GVA in the South West). RIA Wales & Western activity is informed and prioritised by the Leadership Group made up of RIA Members either located in Wales & Western region or with a significant presence in the area.

Be a recognised railway industry body in Wales & Western

Map local stakeholders (political, academic, industry) and facilitate direct engagement

Represent Wales & Western supply chain’s interests to Government and key stakeholders

Form and maintain a view on the priority issues in Wales & Western

Influence policy decisions via related campaigns, public affairs, lobbying, white papers, events etc.

Engage with and influence key rail decision makers in Wales & Western establish, monitor, and manage workstreams focused on outcomes for the four priority areas areas identified by the Leadership Group

Ultimately, support a stronger, better railway as part of an integrated transport system

Build up knowledge of the Wales and Western railway industry issues and opportunities

Collate and define stakeholder ‘problem statements’

Build stronger relationships between RIA Wales & Western members and key stakeholders

Provide access to RIA resources for members in the region

Promote innovation in the supply chain

Networking, education and collaboration opportunities at events in the nation/region
