Railey Realty Closes Record High Residential Sale

Following a record-breaking year for luxury home sales in 2020, Railey Realty closed the highest recorded residential sale in Garrett County and Deep Creek Lake history. The home, located in the prestigious Holy Cross community, sold for $3,900,000 in March 2021. The previous record high sale was $3,550,000, for a home sold by Railey Realty on Turkey Neck Road in 2020. Prior to that, the highest sale recorded was in 2010, at $3,500,000 for a home sold in Holy Cross.

Thousand Acres Community Expands Golf Course

Under new management, the Thousand Acres Golf Club is working on expanding their incredible 9-hole course to a full 18-hole championship golf course! The first 9 holes, completed in 2009, offer a serene atmosphere nestled on the southern end of Deep Creek Lake.The second 9 holes will bring the same attention to detail and beautiful scenery. Silver Tree Marine Adds New Boat Ramp and Docks

Local marina Silver Tree Marine recently began work on their new lakeside site on Deep Creek Drive. Silver Tree Marine currently has a service facility located on the very northern end of Deep Creek Drive, storage facilities on Rock Lodge Road, and rental and fuel docks located lakefront at Silver Tree Center off of Glendale Rd. The new site on Deep Creek Drive will allow

the marina to put in boats much closer to their facility, reducing traffic around the lake, and allowing for close proximity to a service center for their clients. In addition to boat ramp, STM will also be adding seven dock slips for their clients and customers. The boat ramp will not be open for public use, but inquiries about leasing a slip can be sent to info@silvertreemarine.com.

The Deep Creek Lake Resort Report New Waterlines Installed Across Deep Creek Lake

In efforts to better service McHenry with public water, Garrett County has installed new water lines that connect the McHenry Public Water System with Thayerville Public Water System, creating the Deep Creek Lake Water System. This new system will provide the southern end of Deep Creek Drive with public water and allow for a more reciprocal system and ultimately more water to McHenry. This new line will also

allow for more reliable water for fire suppression systems and the ability to add a fire hydrant on Rock Lodge Road. It also will allow for future public water expansion. During the permitting process, it was decided that the sewer lines should also be replaced. While there were no issues with the current sewer lines, the new lines installed are rated for a lifespan of 100 years and are made for waterways. The project

Wisp Resort Celebrates a Successful Winter Season

General Manager of Wisp Resort, Ron Hawkes, was happy to report a successful winter season despite restrictions and modifications in place due to COVID-19 health & safety concerns. To help keep staff and guests safe, Wisp Resort limited
