Last Time Out The Raiders raced out to a 16-4 lead in the opening quarter vs the Rams on Tuesday night, thanks to a 6-11 (54.5%) effort from the field in the quarter. The Raiders quick starts helped them hold on to a double-digit lead for the majority of the game, outscoring Paragould in 2 of the next 3 quarters. Elauna Eaton led the team in scoring with 20 points on 7-18 (39%) shooting from the field. She also knocked down four three balls in the game. It marked the 25th time in 26 games Eaton has led or tied for the lead in scoring this season. Briley Pena joined her in double-digit scoring for the fourth consecutive game, finishing with 16 points on 7-10 (70%) shooting from the field and 2-4 (50%) shooting from 3. The duo led the Raiders with a total of 6 three-pointers for the game. Eaton led the squad in rebounds with 10 (2, 8), recording her second consecutive double-double. Overall, it was the 9th time this year she finished a game with double-digit boards. Briley Pena led the team in assists with 4. It was the first time Jan 21 in the first league meeting vs Paragould that Pena led the team in assists. Pena also led the team in steals with 3. It was the third time this year she’s had at least 3 a/3 s in a game. The squad had 10 steals overall, the 11th time this year they’ve had double-digit steals in a game. The Raiders recorded one block in the contest, thanks to Daly Dacus. The Raiders were led by Daniels’ three deflections on the night, as they recorded 10 total deflections, the 12th time this year they had double-digit deflections in the game. Everything Litty I Love When It’s Hot The Lady Raiders have opened up the first quarter in each of the last two games on a tear.

The Raiders put up 25 points in the first quarter of the West Memphis, before pouring in 16 in Tuesday’s matchup vs Paragould.

The Raiders shot 54.5% from the field and 60% from three on Tuesday, knocking down a total of 6 field goals in the opening frame.

In the West Memphis game last Friday, they were 61% from the field, going 6-8 (75%) from deep.

They’ve also their opponent to single-digit points in both games, holding Paragould to just 4, while giving up 8 to the Blue Devils.

The Raiders set a new season-high in 1st qtr points in that West Memphis game, scoring 25.

Record-Breaking Season The Lady Raiders set three new season-highs while ranking at the top in other categories, in their win vs West Memphis last Friday. They also had a few notable moments on Tuesday vs Paragould.

Briley Pena finished with 7 field goal makes in the Paragould game, one o of her season-high. She also had her third-highest mark in FG%, shooting 70% vs the Rams.

The Lady Raiders gave up just 30 points to Paragould, the fewest they have given up in league play, and the second-fewest they have given up all year.

The Lady Raiders also tallied their third-highest number of rebounds vs the Rams, hauling in 35.

The Raiders set a new season-high in the West Memphis game going 57% from deep.

The Raiders also set a new season-high in three-pointers made with 12. They set a new season-high for first half three-pointers with 9.

Elauna Eaton broke the program record for 3 pointers in a game with 8 on 2/7 at GCT, before breaking her own record again vs WM. She finished with 9 three makes on 9-14 (64%) shooting.

Briley Pena set a new season-high in FT makes vs WM, going 10-11 (91%) from the stripe.

The gold and black also shot their fourth-highest percentage from the field this season, going 18-37 (49%).

The Lady Raiders set a new season-high in 1st quarter points with their 25.

Ball Movement is KEY

Double-Double Machine Elauna Eaton enters play with NINE double-doubles to her credit this season, as she has recorded two straight double-doubles after a 20 p/10 r outing vs Paragould.

Eaton is one of three players in the entire 5A Classification with multiple doubledoubles and currently ranks 4th in the state in the category.

E had the longest active double-double streak and the longest double-double streak of the entire season with her streak of four.

In 5 of her 9 double-double games this season, Eaton has also chipped in to score 30+ points.

EE leads the team in both points and rebounds with 621 points and 208 rebounds.

Shut-o Valve Engaged The Lady Raiders turned up the pressure defensively vs Paragould, holding the Rams to just 4 points in the opening quarter of ball on Tuesday.

The Raiders held the Rams to just 2-10 shooting in the opening quarter of play (20%). It was the third time this season the squad has held an opponent to two or fewer FG makes in the opening frame.

The Lady Raiders forced 17 turnovers in the game, including 6 in the opening qtr.

The Lady Raiders opened the first quarter of the West Memphis game on a tear, outscoring the Blue Devils 25-8 in the opening quarter.

The Raiders held the Blue Devils to just 2 FGM in the opening quarter, as they went 2-12 (16.7%) from the field and 1-7 (14%) from 3. It was the second-lowest number of FGs the Raiders have surrendered in an opening qtr this year.

In the second half of play, the Raiders only gave up two boards to West Memphis, giving up an OREB in just 6% of the Blue Devils possessions.

One of the biggest factors for the Lady Raiders success in conference play has been the play of Elauna Eaton, Briley Pena and Wakiryah Daniels.

Eaton has led the team in scoring in every single game, while Pena has finished in double-digit scoring nine times, with Daniels finishing with double-digit points three times.

Since Jan. 10 their averages are:

Record Setters Elauna Eaton surpassed Jennifer Towne’s mark of 1,440 points for 2nd place on the all-time scoring list at Nettleton with her 34-point performance at Paragould on 1/21.

She now has 1,630 career points. She is 253 points removed from Jordan Elder’s mark of 1,883 career points for 1st all-time.

Travia Woodruff tied Courtney Crippen’s mark of 202 career assists with her two assists in the Paragould game. She will move to solo 3rd place with her next assist. She is 107 off of Mya Love in 2nd place.

Elauna Eaton currently ranks 2nd all-time in program history in 3 pointers made with 179 and moved into 2nd place with her lone 3-pointer vs Batesville in the NEA Finals.

EE is 42 3 pointers off of Ali Tucker for 1st place.

Setting the Tone

Since their loss to Fayetteville on Dec. 21, the Lady Raiders have responded by opening up the first half on a roll in each of their games since.

In that span, Nettleton has averaged 32.7 PPG in the opening half, with 16.5 of their points coming in the opening quarter of play.

As a team, they average shooting 46% from the field, 46% from 2 and 45% from three while shooting 78.5% from the line in the opening half of play.

In 12/13 games in this stretch, the squad has gone into the locker room with the lead, leading by double-digits in nine games, including the WM game, as they were up 36-26.

The Lady Raiders have been led by at least one double-digit scorer at the half in 12 of the 14 games, and have been led by multiple in 7 games. Eaton led with 14 points at the half vs Paragould.

Additionally, the Lady Raiders have averaged just 4.3 turnovers in the opening half of play.

A Run For The Record Books

The Raiders winning percentage since the 2015-16 campaign currently sits at 89.9%.

As a team, their lowest winning percentage by season during this run was 2015-16, when they went 27-4, winning 87% of their games.

In both the 2016-17 season (93%) and 2017-18 (90%), they had winning percentages above 90%.

The Lady Raiders currently lead the entire 5A classification in wins (23) and rank 2nd in winning percentage (88.8%).

Rebounding Machine

The Lady Raiders currently average 29.2 rebounds per game for the season, averaging 29.7 rebounds per contest in league play.

The Lady Raiders lead the 5A-East and the entire 5A classification while ranking sixth in the state, in RPG average.

The Raiders have seen both Elauna Eaton and Daly Dacus account for double-digit rebounds 11 times this season. EE has hauled in double-digit boards in seven of the Raiders last 10 games and nine overall. Dacus has done it once.

As a team, they’ve hauled in 30 or more rebounds in 11 games this season, including their 35 rebound effort vs Paragould, which was their fourth-highest mark of the season.

Additionally, the gold and black have secured double-digit offensive rebounds in 12 games this season, including vs Paragould where they had 12.

The Sisterhood Three former Lady Raiders are excelling at the next level this season. *This section gets updated on Tuesday’s* Dasia Young finished with 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal in UT Martin’s 88-64 win over Eastern Illinois last Saturday. She had a career-high 6 assists in the Skyhawks game Thursday vs SEMO. Young has started in 13 games now for the Skyhawks. She

holds averages of 5.9 PPG and 2.8 RPG. She’s played 20 or more minutes in each of the last 14 games.

Mya Love got her 4th start of the season on Saturday in A-State’s loss to Texas State.

She finished with 6 points and 2 rebounds in the game. She played a career-high 32 minutes while getting the start in A-State’s win over Coastal Carolina back on 1/25. She holds averages of 2.2 PPG and 2 RPG Jordan Elder has started each of the last 14 games for Harding and scored a careerhigh 17 points in the Bisons win over Southern Nazarene on 1/11. She logged 33 minutes in Harding’s game vs Henderson State on Saturday, finishing with 1 point, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Elder holds averages 10.2 PPG, 1.6 RPG and 1.8 APG. Second Half of League Play

Since the 2015-16 campaign, the Lady Raiders are 34-3 in the second half of league play.

The Raiders have won 22 of their last 24 games in the second half of league play, and have gone 8-1 (16-17), 8-1 (17-8) and 6-1 (18-19) over the course of the last three seasons. They are 4-0 so far this year.

Nettleton has scored 60 or more points in 19 of their 37 games in the span (51.3%) while holding 18 opponents (50%) to 40 or fewer points.

On average, they’ve outscored opponents 57.8-38.6 (+19.2).

Their largest margin of victory in the second half came back on 2/14/17 when they defeated Wynne 75-14.

Top-Notch Guard Play

The Lady Raiders have gotten excellent contributions from their guards this season.

The Raiders guards have combined to score 52.6 PPG, which makes 88.8% of the teams scoring load. Pena, Eaton and Daniels alone combine to average 43.6 PPG, which makes up 73.9% of the teams scoring.

Lady Raider guards have combined to shoot 34.1% from deep and 34% from the field.

Additionally, the Raiders have been led in scoring by a guard in every single game this year.

All 4 of the top spots for free throw percentage on the team belong to guards. Alexa Jackson (100%), Elauna Eaton (85%) and Briley Pena (83%) all are shooting 80% or better from the line.

Five Lady Raiders have already cleared 100 in total points this season, four of which are guards. EE leads the team with 621 points, while Briley Pena sits at 324 points, Wakiryah Daniels has 224 points and Travia Woodruff, who cleared the 100 point plateau last Tuesday night, has 105.

Elite from the stripe

The Lady Raiders have gotten off to a red hot start from the FT line this year, shooting 73% from the line, which ranks 3rd in the state.

The gold and black have now shot 70% or better from the free-throw line in 18 games this season, including the Paragould game. They’ve now shot 70%+ in 16 of their last 20 games.

Additionally, their 23-28 (82%) shooting vs Marion last week was the 9th time this year they’ve shot better than 80% from the line. It was their 7th-highest FT% of the year overall.

Briley Pena, who is 2nd on the squad in FT%, has gone 100% from the FT line in 10 of the Raiders last 18 games. In that stretch, she is 59-70 (84.2%). She did not go to the line in the Paragould game.

As a team, the Lady Raiders have gone 346-467 (73%) from the stipe.

Elauna Eaton is 2nd in the state in FT% shooting, shooting 85% from the line. Briley Pena, meanwhile, ranks 3rd in the state, shooting 82% from the line.

Finding her groove

Briley Pena has played some of her best basketball of the season over the last 14 games.

Since the Jacksonville game, Pena is averaging 12.8 PPG on 52%/37% shooting from the field. She’s also shooting 58.8% from 2.

Pena has also chipped in to average 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game in that span.

Pena’s average of 12.8 PPG for the season is up 52.3% from her average of 8.4 PPG after the first three contests.

EE can hoop Elauna Eaton enters play on the heels of her 9th double-double of the season as she had 20 points/10 rebounds vs Paragould.

EE got 20+ for the 30th time in her Lady Raider career. She’s played a total of 54 games in a Raider uniform, meaning she has scored 20+ in 55.5% of her games at Nettleton.

Additionally, she has scored 30+ four times in the last nine games.

E cleared 500 points for the season in the Raiders game vs Searcy with 18 points. She has already cleared 500 points and 200 rebounds (208) and could clear 50 steals (currently 42). If she does, she would be the first player to finish with single-season totals of 500/200/50 in the history of the program.

E led the squad in points (20), 3 made (4), FT% (100%), Rebs (10) vs WM. Since conference play began, EE’s PPG average has increased by 2.5%, her RPG average has gone up 7.5%, her 2FG% has gone up 1.8%, her 3FG% has gone up 6.1% and her overall FG% has shot up 3.4%.

Eaton has scored in double-digits in all but one game and has scored 20+ points in 18 of the 26 games (69%) this season.

Eaton currently ranks 2nd in the state in PPG, 11th in the state in FG% (50%), 1st in Pts/32 (27.4), 11th in 2pt FG% (56%),3rd in 3p/G (2.5), 9th in RPG (7.9) and 6th in total rebounds (198), 1st in FG makes (among players who played 25 or fewer games) (197).

She ranks 2nd overall in FG makes.

This season, Eaton made double-digit free throws in a game for the first time in her Nettleton career, going 10-13 (77%) from the charity stripe vs Riverside in the second game of the season.

She has since sank double-digit free throws in seven other games and has knocked down double-digit free throws four times in league play so far. She was 10-10 vs Jonesboro, marking the fourth time she has gone 100% from the line this year, and the third time she did it on double-digit attempts.

Defense doesn’t Graduate The Lady Raiders have been effective on the defensive end, holding opponents to just 45.8 PPG. Their Points Allowed average has gone down 5% since the Jacksonville game.

Kate Gilbert led the Bombers in scoring with 15 points vs Marion. Anna Grace Foreman added 13 points, 19 rebounds and 6 blocks.

The Bombers average 45.7 PPG while giving up 36.2 (+9.5).

They are 4-3 on the road this season. They are 3-1 on the road in league play with their lone loss coming to Jonesboro back in January.
