Landscaping and courtyards play a vital role in enhancing the healing environment of hospitals, fostering positive effects on patients,visitors,and healthcarestaffalike.These green spaces provide a respite from the sterile indoor settings, offering a serene and natural atmosphere that promotes relaxation and stress reduction. Studies have shown that exposure to greenery and nature can lead to improved patient outcomes, reduced recovery times, and lowered stress levels.

Courtyards serve as therapeutic retreats, allowing patients to connect with the outdoors, enjoy fresh air, and find solace in a peaceful environment. Additionally,well-designedlandscapingcontributes to the overall aesthetic appeal of the hospital, creating a welcoming and uplifting ambiance that positively influences the well-being and mental health of everyone within the healthcare facility.

PERSPECTIVE SECTION

Adesignthatistailormadeforanartisttoamplify their design ingenuity, this residence focuses on providing a safe space that incorporates privacy and comfort with the contrasting elements of an isolated public space and beliefs of vernacular landscaping.

Thegroundfloorisasemipublicspacethatfocuses on treating the client with utmost professionalism and hospitality. It separates the foyer and office from the private zones of the house.

The ladndscaping elements of pergolas, emphasised vegetation and passive cooling differentiate this residence from the modern standards of concrete jungles; it encourages outdoor activities and vastly improves the quality of life.

ABOUTTHEDESIGN

This apartment complex was fashioned after the idea of a Villament", a mixture of villas and apartments. This combines the luxury of a villa and the social dominance of an apartment complex; while catering to the monetary needs of an apartment and the luxurious space within a villa.

The main aspect of this complex is the incorperation of duplex apartments into, not just the penultimate floors, but also the preceding floors.

Theapartmentitselfboastsaluxuriouspublicspacewithadoubleheightlivingroom,withpartialvisualaccesstothe privatespaceslikethebedroom.Withamplestructuralwhitespacesuchasbalconiesandopencorridors,thisdesign caters to the positive effect of Biophyllicarchitecture on the general health of the users.

The complex has a gradual progress of spaces that move from retail focused trades on the lower floors, to casual service outlets such as spas and salons, and finally end in formal servicessuchasbanksand offices.

The larger light cream onyx marble block acts as a pedestal withDr.MVKesavaRao followed by the names of all the directors engraved on smaller caramel brown marble blocks as a testament to their contributions to the institution. The structure aims to bringforth anewtradition of welcoming the new director into the institution by creating a tradition of unveiling their names carved into the core of the NITC fabric.
