Hailing from the picturesque town of San Remigio, Annie’s saga is a testament to the event’s theme of learning and earning.

A LEGACY SPANNING 18 FRUITFUL YEARS

Annie’s journey wasn’t devoid of challenges. Braving the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda showcased her resilience, while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic brought eight months of unwavering determination to overcome stagnant sales.

Her handcrafted native basket does have variations which includes round place mats, coasters, laundry baskets, and a unique lechon tray with stand. Each piece encapsulates her commitment and unyielding spirit.

Annie’s shop is a haven for those seeking aesthetically authentic native products. Additionally, pre-orders are welcomed, inviting you to personalize your own piece of woven artistry.

The March Pagtuki event stands as a tribute to exceptional women whose journey exemplifies the tenacity, innovation, and the boundless heights women can achieve.

SM CITY CEBUWOMEN’S MONTH

In commemoration of Women’s Month, RAFI MFI Tindahan Ni Nanay (TNN), in partnership with SM City Cebu, showcased the remarkable TNN Merchant Products from March 16–31, 2023.

The platform shone a spotlight on the exceptional talents, entrepreneurial drive, and craft of local women artisans.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore an array of distinctive products from RAFI MFI’s OBOP initiative, with each merchant dedicated to delivering quality and innovative offerings.

Annie Felicano’s San Remegio Native Baskets emerged as a testament to her craftsmanship. These baskets go beyond mere functionality, serving as embodiments of the cultural heritage woven into each fiber, providing a window into the region’s profound history and traditions.

Ailyn Flormata’s Aira Native Bags, another highlight, seamlessly blend tradition and modernity in their creations, offering a visionary perspective on native bag designs.

Maylin Ligad proudly unveiled Ritazo Products, a true testament to the relentless efforts of the Ritazo Tingub Women’s Worker Association.

The event featured the exquisite Leyte Kakanin Best by Mariane Gonzales, treating attendees to a remarkable journey through Leyte’s rich culinary heritage. Lastly, Josephine De Lara introduced us to the mouthwatering world of Lucille’s Cakes and Pastries, an array of baked delights perfect for satisfying sweet cravings and making every occasion special.

Supporting local businesses has never been more exciting. The event was a celebration of dedication, hard work, and the remarkable flavors that bind communities together. Empower local businesses. Embrace culture. Celebrate Women’s Month.

Tindahan Ni Nanay, in partnership with SM City Cebu, celebrated Women’s Month with the theme “Wow Women! She Learns. She Earns.” on March 26, 2023. The event was graced by guest speakers who have made a significant impact in their work, business, and the lives they’ve touched through their purpose and passion. Raquel Toquero-Choa, the “Philippine Chocolate Queen” and “Philippine Chocolate Sommelier,” founder of Cacao de Filipinas Fellowship, Inc., was one of the inspirational speakers for the event. She shared her humble beginnings and her recognition as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World” by the Filipina Women’s Network.

Myra Tapinit, a senior district head of RAFI MFI, Alerose Nina Corona, a Talent Acquisition Manager of RAFI MFI Human Capital team and a Breast Cancer Survivor, Joan Ruiz, Head of Procurement and Logistics and the first woman to be recognized with the RAFI Exemplary Employee Award, and Michaela Jaycel Dolores, the Research and KP Manager of RAFI MFI, were empowered women who shared their inspiring stories in a talk show segment of the event hosted by Rizza D. Labao who is a Licensed Professional Teacher, Social Development Worker, leader, mentor, and currently a program manager of RAFI EDU.

Iris Dorado, Vice President for Business Development, also presented “Going Beyond Credit: The Evolution of Microfinance.” which talks about RAFI Microfinance and the various services, and interventions it provides to its member-preneurs.

Tindahan Ni Nanay members Fely Abatayo, Sharon Saavedra, Lorabel Karim, and Annaliza Escobal also had the opportunity to share their uplifting stories, perfectly embodying the event’s theme of “She Learns. She Earns.”

To conclude the event, Ailyne Lim, Vice President for Operations, expressed her sentiments and gratitude to everyone who celebrated Women’s Month with them.

It was indeed a Sunday well spent.

LAUNCHING OF TS ROSE CHATBOT

RAFI-Microfinance (RAFI MFI) launched the TS ROSE (RAFI MFI Online Service Expert) Chatbot on March 31, 2023.

The Facebook chatbot project in one of the many customer solutions under the Client Feedback Management Project of RAFI-Microfinance Inc., providing an automated and effortless way for clients and non-clients to communicate with the RAFI MFI page.

The TS ROSE chatbot swiftly and easily responds to the client’s feedback and inquiries on their Facebook messenger. This consists of different menus, including Membership, Products and Services, Careers, Contact Us and KaagAppay

Through the chatbot, client concerns are responded round-the-clock, including the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of RAFI MFI Products and Services. Complaints and inquiries are also redirected to RAFI MFI Cares and Email for better staff attention.

The chatbot can be accessed for free through the RAFI MFI Facebook messenger. There’s no need to wait for long days to clarify your questions.
