This year has truly been an experience to remember for all my life. I entered Singapore with my luggage, previous knowledge and an aspiration to be a changed person. Now when it’s time to say goodbye, my hands are full with the richness of experience and learning, along with a newly polished and shining me! Cherry on the cake with the amazing bunch of peers and immensely supportive faculty that I have met. By taking design management master degree course, I hope to get advanced business knowledge and skills for my career development in fashion industry. This one-year course is a short but yet intense program that challenges the students even from the beginning of the course. By taking this course, I have developed my understanding to identify problems, develop solutions and making strategic decision for my future career as an Entrepreneur and Fashion Designer.

Finishing my Masters with Raffles, I am coming to an “end” to my educational pathway, and throughout these years I feel like I have achieved so much academically as well as personally. I would not trade the whole experience for anything, although there have been some tough times and breakdowns, in the end I am proud to have been able to overcome them with the constant support of my lecturers who believed in me, and my classmates whom I am forever grateful for the companionship and friendship. I can now look forward to the next part of my life with my head held high.

SWATHI DIVYA SURESH sureshswathi@raffles-designer.com [65] 85131585 January 4th, 2012 was the day I stepped into Raffles University for the first time to pursue a Master of Commerce in Design management. Ten months down the lane, I am writing on my experiences in Raffles, for the graduation book. This is reality, and it is hard to believe. Two months more, I am all set to leave my university. And if you ask me what I will miss the most, my answer will always be “My dearest classmates” and the memories each professor has imprinted on my mind. Enjoying every moment in college from complaining about the assignments, deadlines, working all night, grabbing quick lunches to going out for movies, parties and shopping will soon become a memory in two months. But this is the way life is and I’m very thankful and grateful to have learnt so much both in terms of academic and life and now it’s time to apply those lessons and values in real life. Thank you Raffles for making my journey through the Master’s course a memorable one.

Masters program is not at all what I expected, but it was everything that I needed. It was over whelming at first, especially the research and writing involved in each module. But thanks to the lecturers I slowly gained my confidence. Dr. Anna Lottersberger has brought out the best in me by pushing me to excel in Design thinking. Thierry Gerard Delfosse always encouraged and Kenji Choo always kept a tab on my designs skills. I owe it these excellent lecturers, for they helped me to become who I wanted to be. I would like to convey my deep felt gratitude to these wonderful lecturers.
