Stubbornness, strength and spirit of sacrifice. I would like to choose these three concepts to define what I have always seen in Team Novo Nordisk, from managers to runners. RCS has worked very hard in recent years to try to give the right visibility and importance to this team, which in fact has participated in several editions of the Milan-Sanremo and the races in the Emirates. Runners, but also all other high-level athletes called to live with type-1 diabetes, are the best example of how science and personal commitment can allow you to practice an endurance sport such as high-level cycling. Their strength is to feel "normal" and to make us feel almost inadequate in their presence, but also to live everyday life as if nothing had happened, relegating diabetes to a simple travel companion, to always be kept under control. In this the contribution of doctors and science, which has made great strides, has been fundamental in giving further light and vigor to this project. And since Team Novo Nordisk conveys such an important message globally, this book is another splendid sign to tell us where they are going and what their intentions are. My wish is to be able to collaborate together again in the future and to see them, in a few years, also on the roads of the Giro or the Tour, which I know is one of their great dreams. But with their stubbornness, everything is possible.
