VACANT PROPERTY REFURBISHMENT GRANT
This funds the refurbishment of vacant and derelict homes. Originally, it was for people refurbishing vacant properties to live in them. However, from 1 May 2023 it extended to vacant properties that are to be rented out. It amounts to up to €50,000 to renovate a vacant property (€70,000 if the property is derelict). It is inclusive of the VAT cost and must be approved before work begins.
(4) On completion of work you must live in it or make it available for rent

(5) You must have tax clearance from Revenue and have paid your Local Property Tax
The grant covers most building work and associated professional services fees.
The completed application form must be submitted to the Local Authority with supporting documentation. If the property is sold within 10 years, the grant (or a portion) is clawed back.
Qualifying conditions:
(1) The property must have been built before 2008
(2) You must own it or be in the process of buying it
(3) The property must have been vacant for 2 years or more
