Coaque is a community located in the province of Manabí, and one of the major ones affected by the earthquake on April 16. While the Red Cross and other institutions have already begun the work of rebuilding homes, there are other aspects that must be treated with the same urgency, so the Residuos Ecuador collective began a waste management project together with the Ecuadorian Red Cross solids through inclusive recycling called Reciclo Coaque. Throughout the period of 2017, Residuos Ecuador and the Red Cross have been in charge of putting together the recycling plan through field visits and community workshops, with CRE volunteers and volunteers from the same community of Coaque, in order to structuring a team in charge of the collection, storage and separation of waste. The purpose of this project is to improve the garbage treatment deficit that exists in the sector, this is a key piece in the development of the community, on the one hand, it helps the image of Coaque, keeping the streets and public spaces free of garbage, while economically and participatively encourages the inhabitants of the sector who join the project
