Quality Control is the responsibility of every employee at Rafael Construction. Quality must be admired and maintained during the design and coordination phase, throughout the construction phase, and close out phase of the project. Rafael implements a number of industry standard quality control methods including mockups, pre-install meetings, and BIM. But Rafael sets itself apart with our Site Specific Quality Plan. This is a highly customized quality control plan that we create, implement, and maintain for each project Rafael is involved in. It ensures quality participation from each stakeholder in the project and ensures client satisfaction at the end of each job. Rafael has delivered quality projects, time and time again for its clients - a credit to the quality control plan and the culture we have developed.
COMMITTED TO SAFETY ON ALL PROJECTS

The foundation of our safety program is the moral commitment to ensure the safety of the employees and the public who encounter our construction sites. We believe that safety is the responsibility of Rafael Construction and each of our trusted trade partners. Rafael Construction works with the client’s operational staff to develop the construction sequencing and logistics plans, utilizing feedback from the design team, utilities, AHJ’s, and the superintendent to draft a Site Specific Safety Plan
(SSSP). The SSSP lays out all safety requirements and further augments the base safety programming with a number of different standards and protocols. This SSSP is the foundation of a safe jobsite and can be found at all of Rafael’s projects. Rafael sets the standard in the industry for safety and will continue to be a leader in the years to come.

Located within The Outlets at Legends in Sparks, Nevada, Legends Bay Casino celebrated its grand opening on August 30, 2022, after a 16-month construction duration. Legends Bay Casino is proud to be the first brand new Casino Property in Northern Nevada in more than two decades. The property has three exclusive dining experiences, Duke’s Steakhouse – an upscale steakhouse with fine steaks and wines, LB Grill – a casual spot for 24/7 dining, and Food Truck Hall – a unique experience with three different styled eateries alongside the Craft 55 Bar. In addition to Craft 55 Bar, there is the main Chandelier Bar and the Sports Bar. The Sports Bar is found adjacent to the Circa Sportsbook – Northern Nevada’s first Circa Sportsbook. HERITAGE PARK SENIOR & AQUATICS CENTER, HENDERSON, NV
New ground-up construction of a 29,350 SF Senior and Aquatics Center for the City of Henderson, Nevada. This facility was the first phase of a 160-acre, master-planned site that provides valuable recreation and social spaces for the residents of Henderson. This new Senior Center houses a commercial kitchen, dining area, wellness center, craft rooms, game room, fitness / weight rooms, multipurpose room, conference rooms, movie room, and administrative spaces. Also included in this robust program, were outdoor spaces such as a BBQ area, and exterior game spaces. Through extensive sustainable features, this project was able to achieve LEED Gold Certification. Other notable awards for this project include: 2015 BOMA Outstanding Building of the Year; 2012 NAIOP Merit Award - Sustainability 2012; 2012 NAIOP Merit Award - Community Impact; 2011 BOMA Toby Award - Earth Award; 2010 SW Contractor Honorable Mention, Public Building.

TYRONE THOMPSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, LAS VEGAS, NV
New construction of a state-of-the-art 108,750 SF, 2-story Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada. This project utilized a prototype design that uses half the energy of a typical school of the same size and comes in at 2/3’s of a typical cost-per-square foot, saving the school district money. This project features 53 classrooms including a science classroom, art classroom, spacious library and two “flex-space” classrooms.

Rafael Construction, during preconstruction for this project, was dedicated to ensuring that every Value Engineering (VE) option was taken into consideration and selected the best option based upon the School District’s needs and wants while saving them money. Despite significant schedule adjustments due to utilities, this project was successfully completed on time.

Working with the accountable team at Rafael Construction provided our project with value by coming in under budget and on schedule. The project team navigated through material cost escalations, increased material lead items, and labor shortage, without any major impact to our delivery schedule. Rafael continued to support our organization after the project was completed by being available and responsive to complete additional work not originally a part of the scope and addressing warranty items in a timely manner. This shopping plaza locating in the heart of a fast growing residential community, included of tenant improvements and all associated site improvements.


The size of the project was 12,500 square feet of the existing retail strip plaza. The construction consisted of earthwork, wet utilities, site concrete, landscape, signage & striping, building concrete, rough carpentry, stucco, storefront systems, canvas canopies, rock pro exterior stone, synthetic smooth finish stucco, built up roof system, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, and fire sprinkler.

CENTENNIAL HILLS LIBRARY, LAS VEGAS, NV


New ground-up construction of a 45,555 SF library building for Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. Included in this project, was cafe and outdoor area. This library was designed with the concept of a feel-good oasis in the desert of Nevada.
Being clearly geared towards environmental friendly design, this project is certified LEED Gold with 90% recycled structural steel, mechanical implementations, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting control, an intrusion detection system, an audiovisual system, a CCTV system, a public address system, and video surveillance. Louvered glass windows were used for increased directional sunlight into the building. Clerestory windows, 3-form Ecorisen panel system, exterior and interior finishes, stone veneer, ornamental metals and terrazzo flooring were also added.

In my capacity of Owner’s Representative for Clark County, I have worked with many contractors on all types of projects. Over the years, I can say without a doubt, that Rafael Construction is one of the better contractors I have had the opportunity to work with.






Millennium Management selected Rafael Construction out of 3 other general contractors to do our Courtyard Remodel at our Desert Winds Hospital located in Las Vegas, Nevada and have been impressed with the level of professionalism they brought to that project which turned into Millennium Management handing Rafael Construction multiple projects over the past year. We value Rafael Construction and now established a great working partnership with them.







DESERT WINDS HOSPITAL, LAS VEGAS, NV

This project consisted of a complete renovation of a 45,000 square foot behavior hospital which required antiligature material for millwork, doors/frames/hardware, glazing, access panels, wall protection, acoustical ceilings, bathroom accessories, fire sprinklers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical devices and light fixtures. This project also included a complete demolition of the interior of the hospital with all new finishes, millwork, flooring, Acrovyn wall covering and light fixtures. During construction Rafael upgraded the grease interceptor and main sewer line in area A of the hospital. The exterior portion of the project included renovation of 8 existing courtyards which included complete removal and new construction of turf areas, basketball courts, shade structures, outside movie theatre, meditating area and table games. All components had to be anti-ligature as well and construction of the courtyards required the use of a crane due to the 3 of the 8 courtyards being in the middle of the occupied behavior hospital.

OTONOMUS HOTEL, LAS VEGAS, NV
Rafael Construction is currently in the process of working on the Otonomous Hotel, a new type of hotel located in Las Vegas, Nevada that will be a 4-5-story hotel with approximately 303 rooms. It was developed in collaboration with Airbnb and is only a seven-minute drive from Allegiant Stadium (home of the Las Vegas Raiders), which is currently under construction. While first introduced in Las Vegas, this project type is planned to expand into Japan and around the world in the future. Otonomus matches the convenience and comfort of your home and takes the sting out of the travel experience. This hotel will welcome you home to a fully personalized setting that intuitively adjusts to your lifestyle and caters to all your preferences with an absolute minimum of user-input.
