DESIGN STRATEGIES

03. WELLINGTON LIBRARY

Located in a threshold between the city and the waterfront, the proposed site has direct access to the city square and consolidate a borderline of landmarks in the city harbour. Because of the many congregational and recreational spaces generate by the public programs in the surrounding, the site stands as a perfect opportunity to enhance the urban environment and amplify pedestrian amenity.

A WALKWAY WITHIN

Contribute to pedestrian circulation by creating a direct access to the City Square from the corner between Victoria and Harris Streets.

LARGE ENTRANCES & PUBLIC AMENITY

The angled entrances incorporate open space into the design and corroborates the use of the building as an urban feature, more than just a built space.

CIRCULATION NETWORK

Equip the building with an internal network of vertical and horizontal paths to allow for different and unique journeys inside the library.
