Space of Silence: A Psycho-Geographic street scene Eden Paz, Rasha Abu-Amir, Department of Industrial Design & Gregory Kern, Department of Architecture Eden, Rasha and Gregory`s project introduced a sensual installation as a psychogeographical reading of the hectic city scene. The installation engaged city-users in experiencing a new `sense of place` stimulated by a process of sense design with materiality.

The proposal blueprinted an open-closed space composed of translucent boards that invited people to break-away from the noisy and hectic sound of the surrounding street setting and to immerse themselves in the sound of winds between the boards and to the blurring of vision, thus recomposing the common street experience.

That is the installation, triangulated vision-scape with soundscape and with placemaking to offer a momentarily ‘haven of silence’.

The inclusive site, through its sense-design, offered the concept of an empathic liminal cityspace as an all-senses capturing experience for city users.
