SUSTAINABILITY AT THE RESORT

CORAL NURSERY PLANTING - The resort, in cooperation with guests, conducts coral nursery planting of restoring degraded coral reefs. By providing a controlled environment for coral fragments to grow and develop, nurseries contribute to the recovery of damaged reef ecosystems.
TREE PLANTING - Various plants were given by the Dhigu Island community in exchange for our assistance. Tree planting was done all around the resort.
REDUCTION OF ENERGY, WATER AND CARBON EMISSIONS
Hot water is heated with excess energy from generators. Colleagues are continuously educated and trained on ways to reduce energy, water and carbon emissions.
FOOD DIGESTER - The food digester helps reduce the volume of organic waste, particularly food scraps and kitchen leftovers, by breaking down these materials into nutrient-rich compost. On an average, a 450 kg of loaded waste harvests 156kg of dry fertilizer used around the resort. Our machine is one of the largest in the Maldives.
THE GREEN HOUSEKEEPING INITIATIVE
At Radisson Hotels, we care for our planet and our community. We proudly introduce the Green Housekeeping initiative for guests with extended stays, where we reduce our usage of water and natural resources by commiting to the essentials of cleaning of your room, such as changing towels and emptying rubbish. If you opt-in to this service we will donate 1 euro to our partner, Just a Drop - a reputed international water charity - that helps give children around the world access to safe and clean drinking water.
