STAY WILD

Less than 1% of Scotland’s native woodland remains. Since 2011, HAGGiS Adventures has teamed up with ‘Trees for Life’, a Scottish charity dedicated to restoring 600 square miles of self-sustaining, Caledonian Forest with the aim of helping Scotland ‘stay wild’.

Under our ‘Stay Wild’ project we have raised thousands of pounds in support of ‘Trees for Life’ and our customers have planted hundreds of trees in our dedicated ‘HAGGiS Grove’. Find out more at: HAGGiSadventures.com/about-us/ sustainability

A perfect wee taster of Scotland - this tour mixes up the world’s largest horse sculptures, The Kelpies, the seriously stunning beauty of Loch Lomond (the biggest loch or lake in the whole of Britain and inspiration to poets and painters) and The Trossachs National Park with the savage history of Stirling Castle where kings were murdered and rebellions started.

STIRLING CASTLE

@brookeartstudio

Stirling Castle is arguably the most impressive and historically important castle in Scotland. Seen for miles around, its imposing position has played a hugely strategic role throughout the centuries. Once home to the Scottish Royals, the building has been subject to many bloody sieges and much political intrigue.

Whisky divides people. You either love its fiery warmth or detest its full-on flavour. Either way, there’s a reason why it’s Scotland’s national drink and our biggest export. Whether you fall head over heels for our finest dram or banish it to the back of the drink’s cabinet, at least you can say you’ve tried it on Scottish soil and seen a little of our sexy country along the way.

We depart Edinburgh in the morning and make our way to the Kelpies, a gigantic monument to horse-powered heritage across Scotland.

We head deeper into the Highlands, where you can either dive into an awesome whisky distillery tour and taste a dram of Scotland’s famous national drink, or explore the little market town of Crieff, packed with quirky shops and cosy cafés.

After soaking in the stunning views of the Sma’ Glen, we’ll hit The Hermitage forest in Perthshire for a beautiful woodland walk through rivers and waterfalls. We wrap up our day in the charming riverside village of Dunkeld to grab a local treat or two. We return to Edinburgh in the early evening hours.

WHISKY DISTILLERY TOUR

Some people squish up their face. Some stamp their foot on the ground. Others let out a loud 'ahhhhh'. However you react to whisky, don't let it stop you from going on this fantastic optional guided tour. Learn the history behind Scotland's most divisive drink. You'll discover how it's made, and hopefully you'll discover how to love it.

This magical tour takes you to the Anglo-Scottish border to learn about the bloody battles that raged. But more importantly, we’re going to Hogwarts! Harry Potter fans rejoice - we’re off to the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Brace yourselves, we’re heading south to England! Passing gentle rolling hills and dramatic coastline, we’ll cross the border with England to explore Bamburgh Castle and its laid-back seaside village in the heart of Northumberland.

In the afternoon, have your broomsticks at the ready as we’re off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – Alnwick Castle!

After a magical afternoon in Alnwick, we’ll make our way back over the border and into Scotland where we will regale you with tales of the turbulent past before arriving into Edinburgh in the early evening.

ALNWICK CASTLE

The magnificent Alnwick Castle was built over 920 years ago. Its purpose was to control the border between Scotland and England. But now it’s renowned for more than bloody history. The art collection is unrivalled, and the rooms are some of the finest examples of 19th century Italianate design.

HIGHLAND GAMES

Pack your caber - we’re heading north to soak up the adrenaline-fuelled atmosphere of the Highland Games.

Kicking off in towns and villages across Scotland, the Games, or Gatherings, promise a truly Scottish experience, with a backdrop of sexy Highland scenery to boot.

The Highland Games are a world-renowned test of strength between friend and foe. Dating back over 900 years, these athletic, kilt clad contestants promise hammer throwing, caber tossing and some classic tug-o-war action. All whilst pipe band displays and Highland dancing add to the merriment.

With over 80 Highland Games to choose from, we've picked the very best events for our range of day tours. Each has its own local charm and character - showing off Scotland's unique culture and knock-out landscapes. But if you're looking for royal games, check out the world famous Braemar Gathering which is attended by members of the royal family.
