LOST CEREMONY
FALL 2022 ADAM WIESE & NATE GIESELAMNIn the desert of Arcanum Island lays the remnants of an abandoned ceremony. Thousands of years ago this desert was a vast rainforest, but as climates shifted it slowly became a desert that was regularly struck with sandstorms. The people who once called this place home left the area and abandoned 4 mega structures that scientists are now looking to study. The structure they are most interested in is a massive floating glowing orb that lays on the cliffs. In order to study the are they required a long-term living and research structure that could protect them from the sandstorms and heat of the sun. This was accomplished by a two-part structure with the first being a long span shell that allows the winds to roll over the building and the internal labs and housing.
A gabion museum wall creates a divide between the housing and the workspaces. This wall has insets that provide storage areas for artifacts. The labs and offices face out to the site while the living face the interior gardens and the vast desert.

FORGOTTEN PRECESSION
FALL 2022
ADAM WIESE & NATE GIESELAMN SREEMEDHA C, DEHRAY E, ALEX AIn the desert of Arcanum Island lays the remnants of an abandoned ceremony. This was accomplished by a two-part structure with the first being a long span shell that allows the winds to roll over the building and the internal labs and housing. The housing and living are separated by a large gabion wall that acts as a museum to display the objects found on site. The roof gets taller to allow sand to roll off it.

PASSAGE
SPRING 2022 ZAC PORTER HALIMA M
Passage is a restaurant with a shared living facility. This building is designed to house 3 chefs for a month that could come from all over the world and collaborate with each other to create meals. The building itself is designed to age and weather as copper and limestone will change colors or erode of the years. This also brings guests into a personal and private area where seating pits bellow grade would bring you eye to eye with the chef but unable to hear other guests only seeing glimpses of them through the glass.

MUSEUM OF VOLUMES
FALL 2021 BUD SHENEFELT
The Museum for LGBT Designers Architectural Volumes is a celebration of space. This large complex is meant to display volumes designed by a rarely acknowledged part of architecture. It offers learning through a library, hands on workshops, and a large museum. This is designed to build and celebrate community.

OUTDOOR LIVING
SPRING 2022 ZAC PORTER
A copper lattice structure rises overhead in a quiet park. This area provides a large central firepit and a large food preparation station as well as a seating pit. The project will age and weather as the years progress; the copper will oxidize, and the wood will discolor creating a new experience every time a person may visit.

WALL
OF DIVERSITY
SPRING 2O22 JASON GRIFFITHS NMA COMPETION AWARD
The NMA competition challenged me to think of diversity in design. This was accomplished by using the idea of a ripple effect as a single act of activism can cause a tidal wave of change. Bricks were selected based on their color to accentuate that idea of diversity. In addition, the bricks pushed in and out of the main walls being turned 90 degrees in a ripple formation.
