Mission

As an Art Advisor and Appraiser, Rachel’s mission is to connect individuals with art that inspires, informs, and elevates environments while also assisting her clients with any of their additional art endeavors.

Rachel Brown Fine Art Services is an independent art advisory providing bespoke services tailored to meet the personalized needs of art enthusiasts, collectors, and corporations.

Services Overview

Consulting: Rachel provides advising on art acquisition, collection management, art curating and will outsource the necessary specialists and handle logistics for framing, installing, restoration, conservation and etc.

Appraisal Services: Rachel confers with her clients their intended use and will perform all the necessary research to format a USPAP compliant appraisal.

Collection Management: Rachel offers a turnkey service which involves collection oversight through archiving and digitizing the inventory along with the accompanying documentation. She will oversee the inventory’s condition and collection maintenance. If the client is interested, she can also create a printed and digital catalog of the collection.

Curating Art Tours: Rachel will design planned and personalized trips and experiences in the arts.

Art Acquisition

As an accomplished Art Advisor and Consultant, Rachel prides herself in connecting collectors and corporations to works of art that fit their aesthetic, interest and create compelling narratives in their environment.

The Process

After the contract is discussed and signed, Rachel will meet with her client and discuss their goals and vision in acquiring art. Subjects to be covered will be budget, size, location, content, and project timeline.

Following that, Rachel will research and create a proposal of work to consider. After presenting it to her client, she will move forward in overseeing the transactions for approved pieces (she will continue to research for work if nothing is agreed upon). She will coordinate the shipping, framing and installation. Rachel will also manage all correpsondence with vendors and handle any other needed logistics.

$125 an hour

Appraisal Services

Rachel is a member of the International Society of Appraisers and is competent in performing IRS, Insurance, Market Valuation, Charitable Contribution, and Estate Planning appraisals.

The Process

After the contract is signed and questions have been answered, Rachel will personally inspect and take photographs of the property. Afterwards, she will perform the necessary research in order to establish the type of value for the appraisal. The required research will be dependent on the client’s intended use. Research will either include, but not limited to, analysis of art market databases and retail marketplaces, conversations with dealers, galleries, artists and specialists.

After the research is completed, Rachel will compile all her findings into a USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant report. Photographs, research, and conclusions will all be included in the report along with a cover letter documenting the intended use and objective.

$100 an hour

Collection Management

Rachel offers a collection management service overseeing and cataloging the client’s inventory. She will handle and document loans, consignments, shipping, installation, restoration, conservation, and any other administration needs.

The Process

Rachel discusses with her clients their particular needs for collection management and moves forward accordingly. She can work from scratch by creating an online database of the collection or manage in its current state. Managing a collection involves day to day upkeep of the art, documenting all its accompanying paperwork, digitizing the work, and inspecting its condition and environment.

Why is collection management important?

One of the most important aspects to owning art is preserving it. This service organizes, upholds and helps grow the collection. Not only does this service help prolong the value of the art, but it creates ease and enjoyment for the client in appreciating their collection.

The Art Catalog

In addition to the collection management service, Rachel can create a published art catalog of the client’s collection.

The Process

Her services include photographing all artworks, formatting an InDesign file for print which includes all accompanying artwork information, a prologue in the catalog on the collector and/or collection, and an order of 3 hardback catalogs. If more catalogs are to be purchased that will be an additional expense.

ArtVoyage

ArtVoyage is a curated travel experience where Rachel will design and lead experiences centered in the arts for museums, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts.

The Process

After an initial meeting of discussing the client’s interests and what they wish to gain from their tour experience, Rachel will build out an itinerary in accordance to her client’s vision and timeline. Her services include corresponding with galleries, museums, artists, and collectors in order to best curate her client’s itinerary.

Services also include speaking with transportation, handling payments and deposits and keeping track of all transactions. She will oversee accommodations and reservations and include any important contacts within her itinerary. Her mission with designing these trips is to inspire, educate, and uncover hidden gems in the arts.

Art Tour Designer

$125 an hour

Art & Aperitifs is an event series dedicated to educating, inspiring, and cultivating a deeper appreciation for the visual arts. Each event, whether it be at a gallery, museum, or a collector’s home, will feature beautiful art, intriguing discussions and of course delicious bites and drinks. A guest speaker will share their expertise on a selected topic in order to enlighten guests on the power and many facets of the art world. Topics to be explored include...
