Sacred Groves is a housing community that aims to meet the necessity of affordable and ecological housing in auroville. It also is an educational and research oriented project. Most works seen on site are done by volunteers, interns, mostly architects. This is a place where anybody can learn how to build using LOCALLY available MATERIALS. Sacred groves is basically concerned about the innovative usage of ecological materials in construction, said to be more ecological than sustainable. The project is designed to be a model of ecological community living using ecological sensitive construction method. it is a non profit project where everyone works as a team of equals.

The spaces have no false ceiling , with all services designed meticulously and neatly , to facilitate easy change and up-gradation in terms of wiring, technology and fittings, and expose the technology of services as an aesthetic element. The exposed lighting system makes it flexible to movement and focus adjustment. The cooling of the space is through treated cooled fresh air, making it possible to have a space that continues to express its architectural freeflow, allows comfort with hygiene and good health.

SKYWALK DESIGN title: telangana chowk skywalk design TYPOLOGY: urban design location: karimnagar, telangana status: shortlisted competition entry scope of work: concept, design development, design and presentation drawings.
THE PROBLEM For us, as Indians, with the urban population growing very rapidly , we have a very large issue of people and traffic moving together in a chaotic fashion, fighting for equal rights on a very tight space of roads and footpaths, leading to a situation where all spaces become interchangeable depending upon the number of PCU's and pedestrians at the given time. This often leads to loss of life and property and is the most undesirable situation for cities. In this situation of fighting for spaces, it is imperative that every space that we have should be well planned and designed for our citizens to enjoy and use - and this is possible with thought and creativity.
THE SOLUTION AND DESIGN CONCEPT The rotary junction around a large round-about is a workable situation as long as the traffic and pedestrian movement are still less than the maximum expected. As these demographics increase , the junctions will have to change to signal junctions, with specific designed places for stopping bays for traffic ( for breakdowns or any other emergency situations), and specific pedestrian crossing areas. We have envisaged the act of moving across roads as an act in place making for a community with a high social and cultural identity, to create a space as a community space that is people centric.

MASTER PLAN DESIGN PRINCIPLES:
Our concept for the design is the innovation itself based on the following principles 1. The act of movement must be an act of visual and cultural joy. 2. All elements of architecture must reflect local style and decoration in a modern way. 3. The walk must be interspersed with nature , benches, art. 4. The central space with its OAT of 250 people capacity with its surrounding landscape should space that is barrier free of economic background and equal to access and use for all citizens 5. The design shall be informal and comfortable aesthetically to all. 6.The design shall have well placed public facilities of toilets and garbage disposal. 7.The chowk shall be vibrant and belong to the citizens and convert into an public space cond to social interaction, being at the centre of the public transport system. Such spaces have the ability to be the melting pot where all people can equally participate in activities throughout day. 8.Nature has been used abundantly to explore the biophillia effect of the healing bond betwee humans and nature.

INTERMODAL MOBILITY HUB typology: TRANSIT location: bangalore.
introduction: Cities are growing nowadays and so is their citizens’ demand for mobility. On a global scale, motorized individual traffic is hardly capable of meeting this need due to its ownership costs and due to the lack of an accordingly large infrastructure. Besides, motorized individual traffic is responsible for the majority of today's traffic burdens, such as air pollution, traffic jams, noise, and accidents. It is thereby assumed that only a combination of soft transport modes and public and private modes of motorized transport with different capacities, time schedules, and operation times can achieve what is called “sustainable cities”. Besides the need for coordinated transport services, their cooperation must be assured to obtain seamless interchanges and consequently undisturbed, fast, and reliable travelling Such a use of tdifferent transport modes within single journey is called “intermodality” IN THIS PROJECT, THE NEED FOR INTERMODALITY OF INTERCITY AND INTRACITY TRANSPORTATION IS ADDRESSED BETWEEN 3 DIFFERENT MODES OF TRANSPORTATION. intermodal station • hyperloop - proposed mode of transortation with magnetic levtation • metro - intracity public rail transportation • bus bay - intracity public transportation transition area • allied activity - bussinss center

Several scenarios are tried before arriving at the final site structure which helped in understanding the positives and negatives of the respective situations and to arrive at the solution for the same.

Form is arrived starting from the basic necessities and the vertical zoning and altering the skin according to site study
USER ANALYSIS
From the basic zoning, and the contextual analysis, a user friendly zoning is arrived with separate vehicular and pedestrian zones. According to the transit modes and convenience, different modes are segregated to different levels vertically exploring the node as a vertical element. Slow moving vehicles are kept at the ground floor level, heavy vehicles at basement and fast moving cars at the first floor levels. The hub should be placed in such position covenanting the users connecting all modes of transportation.
SCHEMATICS - FORM ARRIVAL From the external zoning, allocation of different spaces inside the hub is done considering the elements from site study by broadly categorising the spaces. Internal zoning is done in major 3 levels and rest of the spaces are designed based on inference from proximity chart.

• to rectify the issue of circulation (both closed and opened), a modular unit is designed which is easy to erect and to store helping circulation also. • the shop is designed in such a way that it can be folded and • compacted to a box when not used, allowing storage also inside. • increased visibility, by several layers of display • proper rooing for shading. • the design allows the storage of fruits inside the shop itself and close. materials used:
