AMERICA TRUMPED.... "Never Confuse a single defeat with a final defeat." F. Scott Fitzgerald

“This is not a political magazine and politics are messy but were just going to leave this here…” November 9th, 2016 in the early hours America announced Donald Trump as the winner of the 2016 Presidential Election. Donald Trump, the sleazy businessman who ran against what some say is a less- evil in Hilary Clinton, actually won the election. Although Trump’s victory was quickly surrounded by confusion , controversy, and anger. Trump who would win the electoral college, calculated to have 306 votes to rival Clinton’s 232, needing only 270 to secure the victory. Clinton who would win the popular vote in a landslide was on the end of a long ruling principal, the electoral college.

Facts are facts and which we cannot dispute . The electoral college is not going to change overnight. The popular vote means absolutely nothing. And the Make America Great Again slogan? I do not agree with for various reason, but to each his own. Do we know that he will fail ? No . Does he have any political experience ? Absolutely not. Is this country in trouble? We don’t know, we will just have to see.

Electoral College Votes Trump 302 Clinton 232

Popular Vote Clinton 65,844,954 Trump 62,979,879

Maria’s Work .. Topic : Passions

The thing about passions is that everyone’s will be different. Just like everything else your passions will be unique to you, and they will center around your interests and things that make you genuinely happy. I believe that once you find what you are passionate about you will find happiness in that. The type of happiness that no matter how long or hard your day was once you are in your zone you will feel complete. I’ve decided to share a few of my passions; Family, Career, Education, Cooking, and Living life with no regrets. These are the things in life that I long for, they each give me that feeling in the bottom of my stomach that kind of tingles. Ya, know? Like that feeling you get when you’re at the top of the roller coaster and you know it’s about to drop at an accelerated rate… that’s how my passions make me feel. A little mix between being so much fun, and exciting yet shocking every time I do them. So let’s get into what makes me tick!

continued...

“Education”- This is a big one for me, I genuinely love being educated! I consider myself a lifelong learner, and I truly believe that if people read more and studied things they feared instead of assuming the world would be a better place. I love everything about education and learning! I love that you don’t have to be enrolled in school to be educated. Something’s you learn out of sheer curiosity, like me learning that the headrest in a car can be used to break a window if your car goes underwater. Hopefully, I’ll never need that knowledge BUT if I ever do then I know exactly what to do. This is something that moves me and catches my attention. It’s also something I love in a man! I feel like I should be able to learn from you, but that’s another topic… on to my next passion.

“Career”- Professional success is something that I’m also very passionate about. I love the fact that while only being in my career field for two years I’m excelling beyond my own expectations. I believe that me loving what I do has truly changed my career for the best. I don’t mind working late, I’ll cover the weekends for activities, and I’ll show up early and leave late with no complaints. I have this burning desire deep inside of me and I feel that most women do when it comes to having that lovely feeling of independence. That amazing feeling when the check comes, and you can show him that you don’t need him to reach for his wallet because you can not only hold yourself down, but you can treat him once in a while as well. (Trust me ladies it is a VERY satisfying feeling) Along with a career comes finances and when your finances and credit are good life is good!

“Living life with no regrets”- I never really understood what no regrets meant, but the closer I get to 30 the more I understand. That means live your life as loud and happy as you want. This means stop basically stop giving a fuck! Like seriously, who gives a fuck what they think about your hair? Or what you wore to that party? Get on that plane and go to that place you always wanted to, wear the tutu in public, and take that extra shot. If it’s making you happy DO IT! This is something that I have come to embrace each and every day! Be yourself and be passionate about it, make sure that you’re being exactly who you want to be. You have to do what it takes to make yourself as happy as possible.

“Family”- Family is another passion that I believe a lot of people tend to forget about. For me my family is one of my main passions, because they are often where I turn to for relief or when I need to forget. How can you not be passionate about the people who give you peace and relaxation? Those people who know that you snort when you laugh and you’re comfortable enough so you don’t need the make-up every day. Those are the people who love you without regret and they just want to see you smile while drinking a bud light and walking into the woods for deer season. Regardless of what your family’s traditions are you have to embrace those moments and people. No one will ever love you as unconditionally as they will they have seen the worst of you and the best of you and they are still standing there. Right beside you. Forever.

“Cooking”- This is by far my favorite passion. Cooking is that thing you do when you’re happy, mad, sad, and whatever other emotion you may be feeling. For me cooking is a release, everything leaves when I’m in the kitchen. I can have the worst day at work then I’ll go to the grocery store and decide that I’m going to make homemade pasta for the first time and I’m instantly happy and picking out my ingredients. I’ve always enjoyed making other people happy and I have found that my food makes people happy. It doesn’t matter if it’s the rib eye’s I’ve left to soak in red wine and other spices, the family recipe peach cobbler, the bbq peach whiskey chicken, or my infamous “cheesy potatoes” each and every one of these dishes makes those around me happy. When I see people enjoying my food I gain an amazing sense of accomplishment and that is where the passion comes in… I love for people to love my food passions are supposed to make you happy. This one definitely does. We will all have different passions that’s the beauty of being a woman. You just have to find what you love, find the things that bring you happiness, the simple joys in your life. Those are your passions, the things that you began to love and appreciate because no value can be placed on the feeling you get from it. Go ahead girl, live your life by your rules!!!

REAL MAG MUSIC REVIEW J Cole's , 4 YOUR EYEZ ONLY.. BY: Justin Long is a small town nigga with some bigger dreams. Find him on social media at @ItsFlyingJ on Twitter/IG.

4 YOUR EYES ONLY, J.COLE RELEASE DATE : DEC. 9TH, 2016

First off, I’d like to thank the homie Brod for providing a platform for me to get some thoughts off. Always appreciate those who take the time to see potential in you and can relate to you. With relatability being the focus, let's dive into to J. Cole's latest project, 4 Your Eyez Only. Jermaine Cole’s biggest gift to his fans and the driving force of his huge sales is the sense of relatability his fans feel towards him and his campaign. For many of his adult fans, who fell in love with his music around his seismic 2010 mixtape Friday Night Lights, Cole represented a particular post-grad black ideology, replete with student loan groans, over-zealous canonizing of rap legends, mistrust and agony over his dating pool, and the struggles with self-esteem that come with finding success before truly finding yourself. His last album, the celebrated (and oft-memed) 2014 Forest Hills Drive culminated with what one must believe to be Cole’s grasp at selfacceptance in “Love Yourz”.

Aside from the canonization of the legends, this album is not that story.

As the album unfolds through songs such as Immortal, Cole’s thinly-veiled attempt at channeling Tupac’s view of a life at the bottom, Neighbors, (a harrowing tale of prejudicial treatment from a mostly-white community and the police which Cole was reportedly absent from), Change, in which he details the death of a friend, and the excellent title track, it becomes evident that Cole’s strength even extends to relating the stories of others whose lives run perpendicular to his own experience. This group of songs prove to be the highest moments of his album and some of the highlights of his career, providing clarity to the meaningful struggle outside of his own.

However, once removed from the tale of James the fallen street soldier, Cole’s return to his own story continues to provide fodder for the main dissenters from his greatness: Jermaine’s story, though important in it’s own right, is a bit corny and snoozeworthy. Songs like “Deja Vu”, which shares more than a little production with Bryson Tiller’s smash hit “Exchange”, show Cole’s pickup line game to be typical of a tall, light-skinned ex-basketball player turned millionaire rapper: unpolished, a little dated and awkward. (I mean, really, “who in they right mind letting you out the house alone/tell me, is your house a home?” sounds straight from a late-90s Joe song.) “Folding Clothes”, purposely the least interesting song on the album with, remarkably, the best production, includes a cringeworthy, pace-halting line about cereal with almond milk that would make even the staunchest Dreamvillian wonder which yes-man allowed that to get past mixing.

#REALMAGSPORTS 2016, an amazing year in sports... Golden State Warriors 73-9 season The Cubs cursed was lifted after they won the World Series Lebron brought a NBA Championship to Cleveland Peyton Manning rode off into the sunset after winning the Super Bowl Alabama Crimson Tide Winning the College Football Playoff, AGAIN Villanova’s buzzer beater to win the NCAA Championship Some of the game’s greatest athletes of all time called it quits. 2016 could hold one of the most historic of years in terms of talent, leaving their respective sports.

Kobe Bryant –Laker legend Kobe Bryant walked away from the game after 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. With Five NBA Championships and currently sitting #3 Alltime in points, he will see his day in the Hall of Fame.

Marshawn Lynch- Beast mode. Marshawn was the running back we all wish we were. Powerful, elusive, and agile. 24 helped the Seattle Seahawks win a Super Bowl against Manning’s Broncos, and was a bad call away from winning another. Forever the skittle eating, dread swinging, hold my nuts power running back “BEASTMODE”

Alex Rodriguez – The super slugger who once signed the largest contract in baseball history. A-rod was a tremendous baseball player even before all the steroids. Hitting 696 home runs during his career, although only winning one World Series, he did take home a bunch of other accolades as well as being a 3x league MVP

Calvin Johnson – Megatron. Throw it up; he’ll go get it with ease. Broke multiple records over the course of his career in Detroit. That city is just a football sad house. How many players’ careers will die on that Lions football field? Early Retirements in the plans go play for the Lions.

#REALMAGSPORTS CONTINUED......

Tim Duncan – Mr. Fundamental. FIVE Rings. 20 seasons. Same Organization. Same work ethic. Same sweet shot off the backboard. 21 is forever in San Antonio

"If you can accept losing you can't win. If you can walk you can run. No one is ever hurt. Hurt is in your mind." - Vince Lombardi

Peyton Manning – The Sheriff himself. Peyton Manning. Record after record fell during Manning’s career, which was temporarily derailed after neck surgery and missing a full year. Manning was let go from the Colts organization which would eventually turn to the younger Andrew Luck. Manning later signed with Denver, appearing in two super bowls winning one, making his Super Bowl Record an even 2-2, not bad considering the completion and being matched up against the ageless Brady year after year

Kevin Garnett - The Big Ticket, KG. INTENSITY. INTENSITY. INTENSITY. His length made him a problem along with a basketball IQ off the charts, KG is a hall of famer. After finally winning that illustrious championship KG was rewarded as a member of the Boston Celtics winning the NBA Championship in 2008 beating Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers team.

Untitled A Short Story

Chapter 1 Guns and Roses Tommy kept walking, trying not to let his limp show. It made his leg hurt even more, but it was important not to stand out. Not in this neighborhood, and not on a day.... Where tensions are high. The police have been sitting outside The Davis residence since late last night. Word on the street was that Mrs. Davis was murdered. The neighborhood was stunned, nobody had a clue about who would do such a thing. Mr. Davis was out of town on business and visibly distraught as he came home on a red eye flight to find his wife slain in cold blood. The neighborhood poured out in the streets as you could hear the howls and screams of Jack, that’s Mr. Davis first name, as he interview with police. Tommy could see everything going down. Observing as the coroners and investigators make their rounds through the home. See Tommy was my next door neighbor, he wasn’t married and s was having an affair with Mrs. Davis. Tommy would in the night, sneak over to the Davis Residence, when Jack was out of town and wouldn’t come out at times. Mrs. Davis, that stupid slut how she could do Jack like that, doesn’t even appreciate a good man, I just never understood. But In a way I don’t fault her Jack was always on the road, Tommy was next door and my god Tommy was good looking. A woman has her needs.. Tommy would sometimes come over here too and, “oh, he was very, hmm intriguing.” We would drink, smoke and laugh about the silliest things. Tommy was an aggressive man, and he worked for the City of Seattle, as a police officer, oh how fitting for him. I would often tell Tommy my fantasies of being with Jack though He would always laugh it off as me being drunk and silly but I knew he could see the way my eyes would light up. Two weeks ago prior to today, Tommy and I were talking and he said, “I think the Davis’ are having problems”, with a grim smirk. “Angela says Jack has been seeing text messages between us”, Tommy explained. Unconcerned I said, “Good, I hope that slut is out of the picture so I could have my Jack”.
